So, in the Targeted Ads thread, BDG said he got The Innocence Mission's Birds of My Neighborhood. BDG, how are you liking it? Rest of the Phorum, have any of you heard this talented band? They're a favorite of mine, of course. Don Peris' chiming guitars are gorgeous, but it's the angelic voice of Karen Peris that truly amazes. First-rate songwriting, as well. Give 'em a listen. (Dv, another addition to your wishlist must be made). =)

Fun facts about Chuck Norris:
Newton's Third Law is wrong: Although it states that for each action, there is an equal and opposite reaction, there is no force equal in reaction to a Chuck Norris roundhouse kick.
Chuck Norris can divide by zero.

Well, Glow is easier to get into, but Birds is a much better album. Glow is slightly more upbeat and poppy, whereas Birds is more on the slow, reflective side. I dunno, it's a tough call, but I would probably go with Birds first. (Or Umbrella- listen to some audio samples from all three albums at Amazon and go with whichever one sounds best).

Where can I get Birds for a decent price? Its apparently out of print, and is available used for $25, which is to much, I think. Let me know.

Odd. The band's official site doesn't have it, nor does Paste Music. Disappointing. But you can probably find a cheaper price at half.com

Also, I was just looking at Looking Closer's review of Good Dog, Bad Dog, and it says the lead singer of OtR is Kerin Peris. Is this a goof? http://promontoryartists.org/lookingcloser...hinearchive.htm

Their new album, Befriended, comes out in August, but www.theinnocencemission.com is selling it NOW. As for their style, it's mellow, gentle folk music, featuring the angelic voice of Karen Peris and the glowing, shimmering guitar work of her husband, Don. Their music sounds like something you'd here in a church or a garden rather than a stadium or dance floor. It's hushed, quiet, reverent, and very, very beautiful.

Not in my church. (Ever been to a black church service?) That aside, I think I might check 'em out.

Heh... well, you know what I mean. Technically, it doesn't sound like the kind of thing you'd hear in most any church in Knoxville; worship services are sounding more and more like rock concerts, I'm afraid. But figuratively speaking...
