Now here's a Rebel Base poem that I can enjoy. Mark seems to be getting better and better at poetry. I like this one.

I enjoy it, as well. Lovely job, Mark.

Thanks for the compliments~ it means a lot.

And the funny thing is... I wrote that poem maybe 3-6 months ago but didn't publish it cause I didn't think it was any good! But then I had my journal randomly opened to that page where I had written it, read it over again, and decided to use it.

I'm glad you did--it's quality. I've tried a couple times to write some more poetry, but it just doesn't work very well. I admire all the great poets we have here, and I think you are one of them.

You know, I often give Mark a hard time because a lot of the poetry that he posts (not his own, but others') makes me want to retch, but that's really rather pessimistic; we DO have some talented poets here. Mark has gotten better and better, in my opinion, as he's become more mysterious and sublte, and, even though it's the kind of poetry that generally doesn't appeal to me, I've always loved Andrea's stuff. Amber and BDG do good work as well, though we haven't had anything new from either of them in a while.

I must confess, I can't get into poetry myself(song lyrics are another thing).  In fact, the last poem I read that I really liked turned out to be an anti-calvinist poem, or so a friend told me.  So, I unfortunately can't really be the judge of an art form I don't understand.

I would agree as well.

You know, I haven't gotten into every poem we post here, but I haven't read anything that makes me want to retch. Well, that's not true, but I haven't ready any poetry here that makes me grab for the barf bag. But to each his own.
