This thread is NOT to be used in the same way as the Recent Buys thread.
Rather, this is a thread where we can keep track of the 2004 releases that we've heard, and, if you want, keep a running Top 10 tally.
To update your list, simply go back and edit it. And please stick with 2004 releases.

Well, you can't copyright those albums. Although you have both low scores, I do hate you for having them, too. Well, I don't consider a C or C+ a low score. I consider them, decent average albums. Crabb Family's seems forced. Perhaps trying to be something that even though they may love it, doesn't fit "them".

I would just like to point out that my Top 10 list has a new #2 entry. I think the new Caedmon's Call CD is awesome. And that's saying a lot for someone who was ready to consider himself an ex-fan after the last two albums and a pair of lackluster concerts.

I just made a fairly major revision to my list: I bumped OtR down to #2, once again making A Boot and a Shoe my favorite album of the year.
I don't like Changes Come any less. Far from it. I've just decided that ABaaS is the album that means more to me personally. It's the one that is more affecting and enjoyable to me. And I continue to be astounded by its craftsmanship.
Also, I moved Iron and Wine up even farther.

I'm also wondering what Murlough's attachment to Rachel Lampa is, but i'd be a bit surprised if she could still impress me. In short, it far exceeds my expectations for that type of an album. I don't think the songwriting is like, totally spectaculat or anything, but it definitely shows that Rachael has more of a personality and she isn't just one of the "show up and show off my voice and then I'm done" types. The music is also reasonably diverse and actually quite dynamic - lots of little moments that took me by surprise. Not one for the hardcore art-lovers, but I'm impressed. Elektra dissolved, or the majority of the employees left and so blindside didn't want to stick around for the folding. I don't know if they've signed with someone else or not.
Still Remains is a Christian metalcore band out of Grand Rapids, MI. They used to be on Benchmark Records (teeny tiny indie label) before signing with Roadrunner.

I can't believe none of you have heard Rufus Wainwright's new album, Want Two yet, or if you have, that you're not so enthralled that you're posting here about it. Y'all are missing out, big time. The first track alone is worth the price of admission....but then he follows it up with more and more amazing songs.

I become exhausted and bored by him after just a few songs. Also, I'm still holding a grudge for his terrible butchering of "Hallelujah."

Also, I'm still holding a grudge for his terrible butchering of "Hallelujah." It wasn't a butchering. It was a shortened version. but that it is sad that you don't like it. Overwrought? Elliot Smith is depressed and overwrought. Elliot makes Rufus look like child's play. =D

I don't know. The world of metal has a kind of snobbery all its own, based mostly on the fact that guitar parts in that kind of music are just so hard to perform (at least a lot of it is).
By contrast, the "artsy" music is usually compositionally challenging but not necessarily difficult to play. That's very true. The hardcore metalheads are really, really irritating. But I'm not as metal-oriented as everyone seems to think I am. There was a time where if there wasn't constant screaming, I didn't want to hear it. Thankfully, that time has passed. anyway.

Joe Henry made the cut again? WTF?
That "F" stands for "freak," by the way.
