"All rock is bad"

Here are two views on rock music.

"All rock is evil and  even if the lyrics are Christian the guitar sounds are still evil."

"Rock isn't evil, it is what you do with it that makes it amoral or moral."

I conform to the second more or less.  however there are others who I come into discussion with that hold the first - adamently-

I've now wasted over 4 months of 20 min internet time "blocks"  [No  I do have unlimited, and yes it is DSL  but think of what Else I could be doing ... ]   on the subject and I almost want to end with this...


Rock is not evil,  Rock can be used for evil.

Now you have wasted enough of my life for which I shall never get back .. good bye...



Or, I can just keep posting the same comments over and over till the other dude dies  / keyboard fails..

Ah, yes.  I'm quite aware of this contingent of people.  One of them is in my family.  I decided to go the logical route.  Please note that she is a big fan of southern gospel music, and thinks it is the beginning and end of all things musical.

Her:  Rock music, even Christian rock is bad.
Me:  Okay, let's approach it this way.  Gold City (a southern gospel group) uses guitars, drums, and keyboards (among other instruments).  Correct?
Her:  Yes.
Me:  Third Day, Jars of Clay, Switchfoot, Audio Adrenaline, and all of the other CCM rock groups use guitars, drums, and keyboards (among other instruments).  So, are you telling me that just because the guitars are played louder and drums are hit harder, that CCM rock music is "bad?"
Her:  I don't want to argue about it anymore.
Me:  (Taunting) What's the matter?  Proved you wrong?

So anyway, whatever.
