So, who here likes Keith Green's music?  His work is by far my favorite old Christian music.  His combination of worshipful lyrics and humorous lyrics was unique, and has not been surpassed by anyone I can think of. Also, his songs were catchy and fun.  So, what do you think?

Fun facts about Chuck Norris:

Newton's Third Law is wrong: Although it states that for each action, there is an equal and opposite reaction, there is no force equal in reaction to a Chuck Norris roundhouse kick.

Chuck Norris can divide by zero.

Chuck Norris CAN believe it's not butter.

Not at all?  I had always thought everyone knew Keith Green.  His most famous song is "Lord, You're Beautiful"  Check out the Ministry Years collections, between the two double albums you will have all his songs.  His career was cut short by his dying in a plane crash, unfortunately.  While his music may not be extremely "arty", I enjoy its woshipfulness(and I don't like modern worship, BTW).  Its also pretty funky, alot of times, something you don't get much in Christian music.  Check out this pioneer soon.
[EDIT]
http://www.grassrootsmusic.com/artist/green  The Ministry Years Volumes 1 & 2 will get you all his songs for less than $30 Smiley

i think we're all alot more familiar with keith green stuff than we realize. alot of his stuff is sung by praise bands all the time.
i gave his recordings a listen and couldnt get past his voice-- just doesnt do it for me. but his personal ministry is awesome, giving away his stuff, only letting people pay whatever they could afford, etc.
one of my favorite songs that starflyer 59 does is actually a keith green cover, "lord i'm gonna love you."

Good question.  Golly.  I grew up listening to him, so I might be partial.  I always thought of him being so "raw"- which is what I liked about him.  He was just him, and nobody else.  He was mostly popular for his writing because of his "rawness".  I guess you'd have to decide for yourself.  He's definitely unique, that's for sure.

You can listen to some clips from various albums here:

I think going in order from album to album is best because he somewhat evolved in his message and music.

Warning to the wise:  he can be silly.

Later.

I absolutely love Keith Green's music.  I grew up with it, too.  Vol. 2 of the Ministry Years is my favorite.  I also recommend the biography his wife wrote about him after his death called No Compromise, and the recently published collection of his Bible studies transcribed from cassettes: If You Love The Lord.
