Get Rich or Die Tryin', the latest from...Jim Sheridan? I can't get over that. Even weirder than when Curtis Hanson directed 8 Mile.

Lady in the WaterI'm a shameless Shyamalan nut, so this it's at the top of my most-anticipated-in-2006 list even though it looks kind of kooky.

I don't have any links, but I just got back from watching Walk the Line wiht my younger brother. The trailers before the movie were for: Memoirs of a Geisha, which I'm psyched to see. A movie called Cassanova with Heath Ledger... eh, miiiiight be ok. Match Point, I think that's what its called, the new Woody Allen movie with Scarlet Johanssen. And... one of the dumbest trailers I've seen in a while: Tristen and Isolde. I'm sorry, a pet peeve of mine is when a period piece-- or at least one set in medieval times like that-- gets rock music as accompanyment. Now... I don't have anything against Evanescence at all, but I think that Going Under is pretty much the wrong song to be playing during a medieval romance. But whatever, rant done.

For what it's worth (which doesn't look like a whole lot), Superman Returns. Firewall, starring Harrison Ford, Paul Bettany, and Virginia Madsen. Looks like every other Harrison Ford movie from the past five or six years. Sigh. Syriana, starring, well, a pretty great cast.

Caught a few trailers before Walk the Line and Shopgirl this week. A few observations:
--Munich looks GREAT. Suddenly at the top of my must-see list. (PLEASE don't ruin this one with a sappy ending, Spielberg!)
-- The Producers may very well turn out to be the funniest film in years. The original is hysterical; this one looks even funnier.
-- King Kong... well, gee. Uh... should be interesting!
-- And I don't care what anyone says... The Family Stone looks kinda good. =)

Word. -- The Producers may very well turn out to be the funniest film in years. The original is hysterical; this one looks even funnier. I've never seen the original, but the trailer for the new one is indeed hilarious. I'm not really all that excited about seeing it - not sure if I'll try and catch it in theaters or wait for the DVD, but that's such a great cast. -- King Kong... well, gee. Uh... should be interesting! I'm really movie-excited about King Kong, in a similar way that I always was with LOTR, and about seeing Revenge of the Sith on a big screen. I fully expect it to be a great cinematic experience and I'm psyched. -- And I don't care what anyone says... The Family Stone looks kinda good. =) I enjoy several of the cast members - Keaton, Wilson, McAdams, Nelson, Parker - but I'm sick of the trailer, and I never thought it looked funny in the first place. I wouldn't MIND seeing it, but I wouldn't necessarily be happy about it either. Maybe it's one of those films the cast can save.

I hadn't even heard of the source material before I saw the trailer, and Aeon Flux looks fairly uninspiring.

'Tis a shame, though... after all, it looks like they're wasting the talents of one of the best actresses working today. (And I'm not talking about Charlize Theron.)

It IS a shame. (I think she took the role so she could have that hair style.) Charlize isn't a bad actress, but she's basically taken the Halle Berry post-Oscar approach, which is disappointing.

Breakfast on PlutoLiam Neeson's my favorite actor, and after Red Eye and Batman Begins I'm a fan of Cillian Murphy, but I'm just not interested in this at ALL. FreedomlandEvery Samuel L. Jackson movie is starting to look the the same. And it sucks that almost every commercial movie Julianne Moore stars in...well, sucks.

Inside Man, a link I derived from Overstreet's blog. Directed by Spike Lee, starring Clive Owen, Denzel Washington, and Jodie Foster. He said it looked unremarkable, but I think it look quite exciting. (And of course the cast will be spellbinding.)

I wouldn't be interested (haven't seen the first two), but J.J. Abrams? YES. That trailer's not bad, either.

Liked the first MI, thought the second one sucked. This trailer looks like it could go either way, but I'm excited about it because of Phillip Seymour Hoffman, if nothing else.

I tried a couple times to watch the X-Men 3 trailer online but couldn't. last night I saw it during the previews for King Kong. it came on after a couple previews that struck me as being laughably bad, so I was really really really excited by the X-Men 3 preview. I wanted to cheer and clap...it looks like it's going to be great.

Thank You For Smoking. Saw this one before The Producers and was greatly amused by it. What a cast! I've never been particularly impressed with Aaron Eckhart, but I don't remember being annoyed by him in the past either.

Find Me Guilty, Sidney Lumet's new film starring *wretch* Vin Diesel. It looks intentionally sleazy. For some reason I've never been able to get into Lumet films that don't star Pacino. I was, however, delighted to see Ron Silver. I love him and he doesn't work enough; I might rent this just to see him, especially since The West Wing is going off the air and there won't be any guarantee of semi-regular Ron Silver sightings in the future.

Snakes On A PlaneNo, seriously, snakes. On a plane. With Samuel L Jackson. Will it be so awful it's funny and realize it or so awful it's funny and not realize it?

The story on that one is that they wanted to change the title to something serious, like "Flight 121" or something, but Samuel L. insisted it's name remain the working title.

wow, that movie looks terrible If it's taken seriously, sure, but I think it may well turn out to be good cheesy fun. It appears Samuel L Jackson doesn't take the movie seriously, I haven't seen any other cast or crew acting like it's a serious film either.
