It's headed my way, it's a Cat5, and it's set to do serious damage...

Mom and the kids left this morning, dad and I are catchin' a plane tomorrow...   please pray for my family, and millions of others in the south east... I've seen dozens of hurricanes, but this is gonna be a bad one.

it's like God himself is coming home to say:
"I, I can do anything, if you want me here.
and I can fix anything, if you'll let me near.
where are those secrets now (that you're just scared to tell)?
I'll whisper them all aloud so you can hear yourself."

Hurricane Ivan hit the US coast early today.

I will definitely keep your family and all others in the path of this storm in prayer.

I live close to Charlotte, NC, and it looks like we're okay this time.  Frances dumped about 8 inches of rain on us and caused a lot of flooding.  Looks like Ivan was far enough west to miss us.  If we had gotten that much more rain, you probably would have seen some pictures on the news of us kayaking down the street.

I hope PurplePerson is okay.   Sad

When I read Cat5, the first thing I think of is networking cable :P

It looks like us Virginians will just get wet, but probably won't see any property damage (yeah, I'm going to feel really clever about this post when a tree falls on our apartment). I'll be praying for those who actually do have something to worry about. I spent two weeks one summer in New Orleans helping fix up houses for poor people. That city is mostly below sea level, and the poor people don't generally have the money to fortify their already ramshackle houses or to escape somewhere else. Keep them in your prayers everyone.

Dadgummit, I hope hurricane season is over for this year.

Everyone remember to keep the residents of Florida in your prayers, as I'm sure that, after this fourth and most recent storm, there's damage and injury aplenty.
