Requiem for a Dream is perhaps one of the most intense things I have ever experienced, let alone watched.  Although it is very brutal and chaotic, I think it has a very good message concerning drugs and addiction. Darron Aranofsky did an amazing job directing this one, and I look forward to watching Pi (i just got it in the mail today). For those (if anyone) who saw RFAD...what did you think?

no RFAD for me, bud i did see pi just last night. wow. it was a strange movie that i think accuratetly showed how far a drug addiction can go. the whole thing was shot black AND white, no grey involved. i'm still not sure if the man in the story was actually a genious or a madman, i think madman. very weird movie. it was slow though...

RFAD was extremely intense, I don't know if I could call it good though...it's definitely a movie I couldn't watch again.

Yeah....I haven't seen a movie with that kind of intensity level since maybe....American History X (not to compare the two).

requiem for a dream is an AMAZING movie, i'd have to say.  it's so powerful and like you said, INTENSE....  i liked it a lot.  the acting is great (jared leto is awesome), and the directing is one of the best i've ever seen.

man i felt SO pained for the characters after watching that movie...  Sad

I was thinking of American History X as I posted that, as it's the only other movie I like that I won't watch again. It's one of my all-time favorites, but I can't watch it.

yeah, intense is definitely the word for RFAD. what i loved about it was how well it studied the nature of addiction, be it with tv, diets, drugs, sex, violence, etc. it covered all bases, not just the typical "i'm addicted to crack, blah blah."

and, yeah, i couldn't watch it again, at least not for a long while-- when it was over, i felt like i was on some really trippy drug
