Am i the only one here who just found out that Living Sacrifice is releasing a best-of album? I'm pretty sure Wildcat has already peed her pants over it.

I'm pretty sure Wildcat has already peed her pants over it. No, but I was rather excited about it. here's the tracklisting: 01. In Christ *NEW* 02. The Power Of God *NEW* 03. Killers *NEW* 04. Symbiotic *Conceived in Fire* 05. Send Your Regrets *Conceived in Fire* 06. Bloodwork *The Hammering Process* 07. Local Vengeance Killing *The Hammering Process* 08. Reborn Empowered *Reborn* 09. Reject *Reborn* 10. Enthroned '98 *Unreleased* 11. Breathing Murder *Inhabit* 12. In The Shadow *Inhabit* 13. Distorted *Nonexistant* 14. Haven Of Blasphemy *Nonexistant* 15. Obstruction *Self Titled* 16. Anorexia Spiritual *Self Titled* releases March 29th. Norma Jean's new one is out tomorrow, suckers. GET IT OR DIE. (Maybe not, but get it. It pwns.) Mae has a new one out the 29th as well, and from what I've heard, it's sounding good. Still Remains releases their Roadrunner debut May 3, and I CANNOT WAIT. The new song is so amazing. Project 86 is headed to the studio (SCORE) and should release something this fall. Oh yeah.

Yeah - I like. Is the group any good? YES! This is probably the one rap album that could give Mars ILL a run in 2005...mostly because Mars ILL is in the group. DS5 includes Mars ILL, Listener, Ill Harmonics, and Freddie Bruno among many others. Their first album, The Night We Called It A Day, is one of the best rap albums I've heard.

This just in... Maria McKee's new album, Peddlin' Dreams, will be released in April.
For those of you who aren't familiar with Maria McKee, you're really missing out. Life is Sweet is one of the best rock albums of the 1990s, despite a couple of lesser songs. Do yourself a favor and try to track down a copy.

Woooooo boy!
Ron Sexsmith's Web site reports that he has written a batch of new songs and is currently trying to select a producer, meaning that we just might hear a new record from him by the end of the year!

i like T Bone a lot as an artist. but after seeing him in concert with Sam back in 2001 my honest opnion is that she is the overlooked genius of the two. he gets TONS of accolades, but few ever mention her in the same breath. just my opinion. T Bone has some good tunes (People From Earth was especially fantastic live); but he can't compete with Sam note for note. now his skills as a producer are not overhyped. T bone knows how to bring out the best in an earthy song. if i had a choice of any producer for a song i was recording, T Bone would be at or near the top of my short list.
you could say i'm moderately interested in his new album. but i'm rabidly interested in Sam Phillip's next album.

Dream Theater is releasing Octavarium June 7: Project 86 is definitely releasing both a DVD in the fall and a CD in the late fall. YESSSSSS. Blindside is releasing both a DVD and a new CD this year. Other than that, I can't think of much else.

I'm waiting for...
Nichole Nordeman - Brave Switchfoot - Nothing is Sound
Also, Falling Up and Bethany Dillon could be coming out with CDs this year.
And...
re-releases of the Blindside albums... plus Ten Years Running, their DVD, plus their new studio album sometime later.
I think that's it...

Harry Connick Jr. - OccasionThis is a duet album with Branford Marsalis on sax. It's only piano and sax (no vocals). It is supposedly the most challenging and spontaneous recording of HCJ's career according to press articles. I read a few things about how they wrote songs a few minutes before recording them - man! It's 13 songs and 65 minutes long.

I heard that when James LaBrie was off doing his solo album, they actually held auditions for a new lead singer. The finalists were French singer Jacques LaGruyere and Middle Eastern singer Ahmad El Edam.

From the always upbeat pen of Pitchfork: So you're Brian Wilson, probably the most respected living musician of the classic pop era, and you're coming off the triumph of the ultimate comeback-- 2004's completion of the 30-plus years in the making Smile LP-- what do you do for an encore? That's right, you sing Christmas carols! Yes kids, take a seat on Santa Pitchfork's lap, as according to a recent Billboard.com report, the teen-pop maestro has recently announced details of an upcoming holiday-themed album set for release in time for the Christmas season..
Boasting (can we really call it boasting?) the saccharine-drenched title What I Really Want for Christmas, the Wilson-produced disc will be released on October 18, and features 12 new recordings drawn from holiday standards and original compositions-- including a remake of the 1964 Beach Boys hit "Little Saint Nick" and the Bernie Taupin-penned title track. And while most fans deem the release of any new Brian Wilson album a minor miracle, this recent news leaves many pondering the fate of the long-promised Paul McCartney collaboration that was said to be in the works late last year. But hey, the Christmas album thing worked for Jessica Simpson, so who are we to judge? Merry Christmas:
01 What I Really Want for Christmas 02 Christmasey 03 Little Saint Nick 04 The Man With All the Toys 05 The First Noel 06 Hark, the Herald Angels Sing 07 It Came Upon a Midnight Clear 08 Oh Holy Night 09 We Wish You a Merry Christmas 10 Auld Lang Syne 11 Deck The Halls 12 God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen I love Christmas music, so I'm excited.
