As with the Music Journals thread, we may not have much use of this one for a while, but we might as well create it and sticky it so that it'll be here when we need it.

This is a thread for you to share whatever films you see in 2005. You can regulate it to 2005 releases only or include older films that you see. Feel free to include ratings, brief summaries, links to reviews that you've written elsewhere, or tenative Top 10 lists. Whatever tickles your fancy.  =)

I'm still catching up on 2004 releases, and probably will be for a few weeks, so I'm going to include anything that I meant to see in '04, but didn't get around to seeing before Dec. 31st, in the '04 Film Journals thread, and maybe write up a Top 10 Movies of 2004 article near the end of January. I'll start posting here when I start seeing films that were actually released in '05.

I read that there's a sequel in the works for Kung Fu Hustle. For some reason, I think it's supposed to start shooting in August or sometime this summer. I can't remember where I read it; probably IMDB, which is not the most reliable source. If it is true, though, cool beans.

And now that I think about it, I shouldn't be cluttering this thread with speculation. Feel free to delete, eye(s) in the sky. As long as everyone thinks I've written something scandalous.

We're not going to un-sticky this for a while, are we? Because personally, as evidenced by the growing list of films I still haven't seen, I'm not anywhere close to being done.

We usually unsticky these journal threads two or three weeks after the new year, but they never get deleted or anything, so you can update 'em anytime. I know what you mean about not being anywhere close to done-- I was updating my 2004 journal well into summer 2005-- but I generally don't like the boards to get too cluttered with sticky threads, and since we'll be starting 2006 journals at some point...

I'd recommend bookmarking this thread. I've done that for 2004 Music Journals, since I still update that whenever I listen to something new that I missed from last year.

I was marveling the other day at how few of the films on my list I would truly consider "favorites" at this point. The first three, and that's about it. There are still several I haven't seen, but overall it seems to have been a dismal year for great movies.

I think I saw two movies at the theater in 2005...which was one more than I saw in 2006...and I honestly don't remember renting any 2005 releases either.  anyways, I saw I Walk the Line and The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe, and I liked them both...I'm not sure which would be 1 and which 2, but since there are only 2, I guess it doesn't matter too much, huh?
