Now I'm not one to usually drag other Christian forums into the mud, but this really pissed me off. Occasionally (for some mentally insane reason), I'll post over at JesusFreakHideout just to see what all the kiddies are saying. Now, I've been a member there for a while so I know there is the rule that you can't have threads specifically about non-Christian bands. However, someone started a thread about the greatest musicians ever, both christian and non-Christian. They won't even let you have that kind of discussion. I can't even just mention the names of people like Hendrix, Page, etc. because they are secular and non-Christian. However, we were able to mention tons of composers, some of whom were Christian but many were not. Doesn't it seem hypocritical that we could name people like Tchaikovsky, Shostakovich, Stravinsky, and Mahler, but we can't mention Hendrix, Clapton, Charlier Parker, etc... total Mother F-ing bullcrap.

Well, yes, you're right, but that's exactly the reason I just wouldn't even join.

Mike Janke has mentioned the forum in question in his blog. Indeed. I especially like the part where he says "I will never wish to by the kind of Christian who lives in fear of the world," which he obviously really means because he put it in bold. I'm guessing it's a typo and he meant to write 'buy' instead of 'by' as a subtle commentary on Christian slavery in Sudan. Or maybe I just like making fun of peoples' innocent typographical errors, ignoring the excellent points that these people may have been making before the error occurred. The world may never know.

If you don’t have freedom as a principle, you can never see a reason not to make an exception. There are constantly going to be times when for one reason or another there’s some practical convenience in making an exception. rms

What does "F-ing" mean ? It's when someone wants to say fucking but is unwilling to actually type the word. I've never really figured out why an abbreviation that everyone knows is somehow better than the word itself, but some people use it.

"Why do you say "effing"? Why don't you just curse like normal people?" "Because I'm trying to give up the habit before I have my fucking baby!"
Wes Anderson applies to every situation.

Young man...we can do without the "Mother 'having sex' cow manure" remark. And, yes, it does seem weird that they would allow talk about composers who weren't Christians, yet not about rock stars.

Well, Christian forums have to have their inconsistent censorship rules. That's why I give the CMCentral forums a rating of four stars.

I prefer "effing". It's more phonetic.

I prefer "effing". It's more phonetic. I like that spelling as well. However, on some forums, you can't use that spelling, which I guess would make you "ineffable". NP: "Jesus", Shaun Groves

I think trying to slow inconsistent censorship is a good idea, but i'd rather see censorship disappear completely. I doubt it'll ever happen, but i can dream.

There was a joke on last week's Saturday Night Live, during Weekend Update, about the head FCC Commissioner (or whatever the guy) is called retiring from his job. Said Tina Fey, "That's a shame. That's a damn shame. That's a mother (BLEEP BLEEP BLEEP BLEEP BLEEP BLEEP BLEEP BLEEP BLEEP) shame."
