Who here has seen Memento? It was recommended to me several times... and finally I got around to seeing it. Brilliant! Who would have ever thought to have a movie play backwards! And to find a script that even has a surprise ending when played that way... wow...
However, because of the surprise ending (possible spoilers) Lenny is pretty much shown as a bad guy... but the whole movie I thought he was good, and I was rooting for him! Any thoughts?

Most of the time, the best characters are the ones that we root for, that we genuinely care about. I didn't care enough about Daredevil to care whether he lived or died, so it's no wonder I disliked the film that bore his name. =)

Yeah, I know exactly what Mark's talking about. They did it on purpose, we sat un-harnessed to the front of the car while it tested it's breaks...

It was a quality movie. I have about a quarter of a review written on some engineering paper that I did whilst my work computer was dead...I'll finish it up while I'm gone.

I watched Memento a couple months ago and was very impressed with the movie, although I found it rather depressing. I wanted to watch it again immediately but didn't have time.
by the way, have any of you guys heard Guy Pearce's first name pronounced by someone who ought to know? I've only seen it in writing and mentally pronounced it as guy, but a co-worker asked me if it is pronounced the French way, Gee (hard g). I have seen several of his movies but have yet to hear his name pronounced. I even looked for trailers of movies he's been in, hoping the Voice would say "starring so and so, so and so, and Guy Pierce", but to no avail.

I felt the same way, though I went to bed immediately after the movie. Sorry about Captain Pierce, by the way...my pronouciation skills are about as good as my ability to not make typos--that is to say, not very good.

Interesting...while not a boring film, I too struggled to keep my eyes open. Though it's probably because it was too late and not because it wasn't riveting ^_^

Yeah, that one scene with Natalie and Leonard where she insults his wife gets pretty insane with the language. It's one where I think the same effect could have been achieved without all the offensive language.

Yeah, that was the only scene I've ever seen in a movie where I actually took a step back and thought "wow, that's just not necessary."

I agree with most things said here. I, too, wanted to watch it again... I want to buy it now. And yes, Becky, I do root for characters... makes the movie much more enjoyable.
