I would imagine that, for a pastor, an Easter sermon is perhaps the hardest sermon to give, with the possible exception of sermons that deal with such difficult subjects as Hell, etc. (Don't you just love how I can boil down all the negative things in life to a two word phrase like, "Hell, et."?)

So anyway, did anyone hear an especially GOOD Easter sermon today? Did it cause you to think about the Good News in a new way? Was it a powerful reminder of the hope that we have in Christ?

My church had a beautiful service, with lots of great singing and worship. As for the sermon, it was perhaps the best Easter sermon I've ever heard. My pastor commented on the fact that, just as Christ Himself was fully divine AND fully human, so was His ressurection. On one level, it was arguably a profoundly spiritual occurence, but, at the same time, it was a very phyiscal one; it didn't just happen on a spiritual level, but also on a biological one. As C.S. Lewis once said, not only did Christ the Divine rise again, but so did Christ the man, and that's really the whole point.

My pastor has been doing a series, "Snapshots of the Savior"  This weeks message title was, " The Road is Red: Gods Roadmap for Atonement".  He started with Adam and Eve and went through scripture leading up to the crucifixion and resurrection.  I've appreciated the messages in this series.  He's really looked at Christ in his ministry from many different angles.  Last week, he gave the most honest and thoughtful message on healing that I've ever heard...and I grew up in the church and went to Bible college for 5 years.
