ok, i'm a little overwhelmed at the possibilities if this should be true. but i've just read that none other than the lead singer of Tool has "rediscovered Jesus Christ," quit drinking and left the new Tool project indefinitely.
here is the link:

http://www.mtv.com/news/articles/1499613/2...?headlines=true

as hateful toward Christians as he has been in the past, part of me thinks this is just a sick joke...like when Ben Moody of Evanescence faked his death as a publicity stunt.

but if true, think of the implications? think how God could use him for the greater good?

i for one pray it is true.

what do you all think?

That's great for him if true(which I really doubt), but no more Tool?  That's no good, my friends.

P.S.  I don't really think that losing Tool is too much of a price to pay for someones conversion, so no flames, please. Smiley

Fun facts about Chuck Norris:

Newton's Third Law is wrong: Although it states that for each action, there is an equal and opposite reaction, there is no force equal in reaction to a Chuck Norris roundhouse kick.

Chuck Norris can divide by zero.

Chuck Norris CAN believe it's not butter.

This story originally broke around April Fools Day, so take that as you may.

But the URL says "headlines=true", so it must be true.

Anyway, whether or not Keenan has found Jesus, I do hope he realizes that several of the songs on Lateralus so in fact fall in line with Christian beliefs. In my opinion, if this were true (and I'm not saying it is), he wouldn't necessarily have to turn his back on Tool. Though the other band members might be disagreeable if the lyrics changed focus... but I don't know that they'd have to so much... I guess they could be as harsh as a lot of Tool's past stuff, or some of APC's songs like Judith, but part of me thinks that to some extent, Maynard could continue to be Maynard and that would be OK.

When did Ben Moody fake his death?

i'm guessing Murlough that you're possibly on to something. perhaps the other band members are not cool with his new faith and they don't want to continue with his "new direction."

something somewhat similar, but not nearly to such a degree reportedly happened in Sunny Day Real Estate when lead singer Jeremy Enigk declared his faith in Christ. i read that Jeremy recorded all his vocals without any other band members present on their 2nd album often called "The Pink Album." after that, SDRE broke up for a couple years, but then they regrouped and made two of the best albums i've ever heard, "How It Feels To Be Something On" and "The Rising Tide."

Ben Moody faked his death i guess sometime early last year. what a dumb thing to do. he had his official web-site saying mysterious things about his disappearance and then his death...only later revealing it was all a joke. Hardy freakin' har har was my reaction.

BTW, check Tool's site again.  It was a joke, as expected.

That was pretty low. It's not something I'd expect to happen so suddenly. Maynard seems like a guy who hates a lot of organized religion because of what its followers have done. That's understandable, but responding in the way that he does is not.

Still, I think the guy's actually closer to Jesus than he thinks he is.
