So I had never heard of this band at all until I was at a record store today.  I saw this cd on the feature rack and listened to samples.  WOWOWOW.  This cd is amazing.  JZ is the duo of Vincent Cafiso and Tabitha Tindale.  Imagine hearing the sounds of Starflyer 59, The Beach Boys, Viva Voce, My Bloody Valentine, Air, The Flaming Lips and more.  The  The lyrics are simple, poetic, and personal and the music is so light and refreshing.  It is a fun and relaxing cd and I am eager to see if any of you have heard these guys yet.  Josh, I do think you will like this *fingers crossed*  Website is Joy Zipper

I listened to the three songs that were posted at the band's Web site and found them to be quite enjoyable. I may have to give this record a spin, Wanderer-- thanks for the tip!

You are welcome.  I knew there was something we could probably agree on  8-)

hey hey! you're so right TheWanderer! i'm gonna have to check this band out too. there is a reason why Joy Zipper sounds a bit like My Bloody Valentine, none other than Kevin Shields does some production work on it! my jaw dropped when i read that. Kevin Shields is a mad genius if there ever was one. anybody who hasn't heard MBV's "Loveless" has missed something very special.
thanks for bringing this to our attention! anytime Kevin Shields comes out of his well isolated cave is time to pay attention.

Hmmm... yeah, Pitchfork critics are generally pretty tough, so a 7.5 ain't too shabby, really. (If memory serves, the most recent albums from Ron Sexsmith and The Innocence Mission both got somewhere in the 7-range as well.)

7.something is pretty good coming from Satan.  I was a bit put off by the brevity of the review (if you're going to b.s., do so at some length to at least catch snippets that give an idea of the music).  Hopefully, this particular reviewer gets better at it.

Play on words I'm pretty sure, danny.  Get it - "pitchfork"?
