Ok...hmmm...I'm not sure how to word this without it becoming some weird issue. The facts are, I am ignorant on this topic and I am hoping for some clarity. If anyone has some thoughts please share.
ok, this may sound strange to some...
A few years ago I was telling a friend of mine how I used to go to a 'vineyard' church, but I left because of some things I had moral issues with.
He said to me, "was it all the barking?"
I said "what? Like a dog?"
He: "Ya, you know when they speak in tongues and bark"
me: "I have no idea what you are talking about. Some people spoke in tongues, but there was never 'barking'"
I thought he was mocking tongues (which I want everyone here to know I would not do) and was just being a big 'dork'...until...
February I was on a road trip with a few of my friends and one of the guys was sitting in the back of the car. I could hear him praying, sometimes in English, some times in Africans (sp?)...he was from South Africa...and sometimes in 'tongues'...then all of a sudden he started to 'bark'...yes, like a dog. I was like
wait a minute...that guy was right...there is barking!!!
Has anyone else heard of this? Does anyone know what it is?
I didn't ask the guy why he was 'barking'...I was speechless actually...but I found it kind of strange.
