Didn't Passover start at 6:00 (approximately) the day he was killed? I think that's why they had to hurry up and get him down before it started. So while they were watching it wasn't Passover but it would be soon after.

If you don’t have freedom as a principle, you can never see a reason not to make an exception. There are constantly going to be times when for one reason or another there’s some practical convenience in making an exception.

Very interesting stuff.  The eclipse evidence is also quite intriguing; I hadn't thought of an eclipse as an excuse before, and now I know how to refute those who use that as an explanation.  Numbers six and eleven are thought-provoking as well.

I believe you are correct, Vlad.  That was why they broke the legs of the two thieves in an attempt to hasten their deaths.  I believe the verse says something like "so that the bodies would not remain on the Sabbath day, for that Sabbath day was an high day."

You know, I think this makes me a bad Christian, but I'd never thought about the events of Calvary is such an in-depth light. Thanks for that...

Funny, you used "light" to describe the darkness we're discussing.

I find it rather disturbing how little we think about the crucifixion. I would think it would be more prominent in Christian circles than it is.

I have been studying the last hours of the life of Christ over the past several months.  I have a few other 'random thoughts' lists, one dealing with "I thirst" and the other dealing with the first recorded violent act against Christ.  I'll post them here when I get a chance.  Glad ya'll enjoyed these thoughts.  I agree with Danny - Christianity all too often glosses over Calvary, only touching the surface of a bottomless mine of treasures.

I can't wait to see the rest of the lists. It should be interesting.
