Yep... that's the name of a book, written by Dave Eggers, and yeah, actually, the title is fairly accurate.

I just finished reading this thing, and wow... it's a monster of a book. It was uniformly praised by critics and was a runner-up for the Pulitzer a couple years back, and I can see why. Like most memoirs, this one is essentially just literary masturbation, but what sets this book apart is the fact that the author actually realizes it. It's a very self-concious book, and, as such, I think it's immensely clever.

The story is very touching, but what I loved was the book's ironic, uproariously funny sense of humor, mixed with tragedy in such a way that it'll make you cry and laugh at the same time. In that sense, it's not unlike Catcher in the Rye, as many critics have rightfully noted.

Can't recommend it enough, really... the preface and acknowledgements sections alone are worth the price of admission.

That book is soooo 2001. Wink

It's been a few years since I read it, but yeah, it's a good read.
