...back in the country.
I'm off on a mission trip to the Dominican Republic. From the 7th to the 21st, I'll be gone. I'm super-anxious but also very exhilarated to go.
Please pray that everything will go smoothly and that I'll be a behaved missionary.
Also pray for God to crush my will. I've been exercising it a little too lavishly lately. It's time for His to take over.
Thanks, guys.
You are loved.
Peace out, Andree

I'll pray, Andree. You're a good man, and will certainly make a fine witness. Hope things go well.
I'm moving this thread to the Faith board, by the way.

i'm back from Praxedis G. Guerrero, Chihuahua, Mexico. spent a week building a house with 28 other people. what a great experience. even with 100+ degree heat and mosquitos everywhere i wish i was still there. sleeping in a tent all week, showering with a portable camp shower and eating from a coleman gas stove, what a way to live. I know that God really worked through the group while we were there. even though we were separated by a language barrier I know that God spoke his language of love through us to everyone there. especially to the children that attended vbs each afternoon. it was amazing seeing the emotions of a 6 person family receiving the keys to a new house after they had lived in a 8x10 shack of cardboard for their entire life. on this trip God spoke to me in other ways as well. He confirmed to me that He wants me to use my soon to be completed (18 months away) degree in mechanical engineering in the construction industry. furthermore, i believe he is prompting me to use that degree on the mission field in some capacity. i still need to pray about that, but I do hope I am hearing God's voice right and am willing to follow once I find it to be true.

Congratulations and good luck with that. I'll be praying that the way will be opened to you and you won't have to agonize over what you should do.

Thanks for asking!
It's been so stinkin' hard to get back into the groove of posting and internet-surfing after you haven't used it for so long. When I went to grab my PC's mouse after I got back I was freakin' having the hardest of times trying to get a handle on it. I wasn't being 'gentle' enough with it! It'd move too fast!
Re: the trip, I promised latinchic that I'd write this very detailed account of my trip, so that's what I'm onto right now. It's been hard, though, especially after all that occured. One thing is for sure: the Lord blessed!
I'll keep y'all posted. Thanks for caring, dawg.
Peace out, Andree
