If you don’t have freedom as a principle, you can never see a reason not to make an exception. There are constantly going to be times when for one reason or another there’s some practical convenience in making an exception.

Andrea, I am continually impressed by how your writing just seems to get better and better. These are, for me, two of your best pieces yet.

I especially like the cadence of the first one. I had to read it twice because, the first time, I got so caught up in the language that I didn't really notice what the subject matter was!

Ok, I've never been a poem person, but the last year I was at CMC I started to read the poetry quite a bit and was impressed by the sincerity and talent and content of many of the poems and songs I read.

Yours are just as good as the best ones I read on CMC.
I'm sitting at my computer with the window partially open, and I just read your two poems aloud, listening to the crickets chirp in the background.
Very relaxing, very heartfelt.

Thanks for sharing, please keep 'em coming. Wink

i was the same way with the cadence on the first one. Though i particularly liked it. It was very non-chalant in it's subject matter but it made every little thing seem important...if that makes any sense. Great poems.
