Author Topic: People do come the Lord at RSJ concerts  (Read 1037 times)

We always hear that RSJ and other blatant Jesus singers are 'always preaching to the choir'. Well, here is an example of two ladies who were saved at an RSJ concert three years ago and are still strong for Jesus today.
From RSJ's site:
Quote
Three years ago on a 4th of July I had heard about this "Freedom Celebration" concert being held at Cerritos College. I talked my sister into going with me. We were in awe of the whole celebration. They introduced your band and you came out and played a couple of songs and then delivered a message, addressed to all the young ladies in the audience about saving yourself for marriage and not giving into pre-marital sex, and that God had another plan for them, and to save themselves for the man they marry. As I looked over at my sister, she was sitting there with tears rolling down her cheeks. She gave me a big hug and told me she loved me. To make a long story short, we both came down that night and gave our lives to Jesus and today are very proud Christians and our calendars are always marked off for any time that you are in town. We have come every year since to see you at "Freedom Celebration". We just saw you last night and I felt compelled to say Thank you so much for saving my sister from a life of heartache. You are the best.

Much Love and Respect,
Terry Holbrook

I was at a resteraunt. I ordered a chicken sandwich, but I don't think the waitress understood me. Cuz she said "how would you like your eggs?". So I tried to answer her anyhow, I said incubated, and then raised, and then beheaded, and then plucked, and then cut up, and then put on a grill, and then put on to a bun. It's best not to respond to threads posted by a now-banned Phorum member that were made in an attempt to bait others.

Well, yeah, although I'm guessing chariot didn't realize that that's what this thread is. (Unless he's a CMCer, in which case he probably knows all too well...)

And for what its worth, Paul was never actually banned-- he left of his own accord.

He banned himself. Same diff.

Point is, the thread was started due to boredom and the desperate need to get attention via arguing, and the person who started it doesn't even have an account any more. (Not things I'd expect a new person to automatically know, of course, but that's why I'm explaning it.)

I would argue that there is a difference. Would you rather quit your job of your own accord or be kicked out and asked never to return? The end result is the same, but the means matter a lot to both parties.

> Point is, the thread was started due to boredom and the desperate need to get attention via arguing

And, as far as I can tell, is continuing to devolve into boredom-inspired arguing.

The person who started your ranting doesn't even have an account anymore (as you may have noticed, CoF pulled a PaulDA). If you actually believed your own arguments, wouldn't you have stopped posting in this thread again once that happened?

If you don’t have freedom as a principle, you can never see a reason not to make an exception. There are constantly going to be times when for one reason or another there’s some practical convenience in making an exception.

If I wasn't so dense and I had actually noticed that, then yes, I would have stopped.
