Unless it's something I REALLY want, I go to the used bookstore at my libraray and get hard covers for $2 and paperbacks for 50 cents, or I pick up annual books at used book sales at libraries or from the flea market.
Hey.....I'm cheap, what can I say? :P
If it's something I REALLY want, I may buy from a regular bookstore, but that is so rare now as to be nonexistent. Wink

Good call.  Gee, let me think:

Vince Flynn's Memorial Day in hardcover for either $20.76 or $4.99.

Whew, tough choice!!

I work at a Christian bookstore, and I can order almost anything through the store (but usually if it is philosophy or spirituality, not as much fiction, mostly classics...but then I don't read alot of fiction). I get a 25% discount plus we have a 'rewards' program at my store (so I end up saving 35%) in the end. Anything else I want but can't get at work I get from Chapters. Books are my weakness...I buy them all the time...and I'm a slow reader, so I have tones to catch up on.

It's all B&N for me. Maybe that makes me stupid... I dunno. But I really like the atmosphere of Barnes and Noble, even if the coffee stinks. (hates Starbucks)

I will always buy online unless it's extremely urgent. Lately I have been finding that Amazon.com has better prices for used stuff than Half.com does, which makes me glad since I really don't like Half.com ever since it was  bought by eBay (which I have a major love-hate relationship with, heh).
