I saw him for the first time on TV today, or at least it's probably the first time I listened to him, and he is, in my opinion, the best preacher on TV. He basically said that all we have to do is believe in Jesus to be saved and all legalism is another gospel. He said that of course if we really believe in Jesus we willchange and do good works, but good works do not save us. And he said that Jesus is all we need. His analogy was: Jesus + nothing = EVERYTHING and Jesus + anything = NOTHING. Many preachers and denominations state you must tithe, must be water baptised, must do this or that doctrine to be saved. You can't dress a certain way or you must go to church to be saved. Andrew debunked all of that. Jesus is the ONLY thing we need to be saved. We are saved by grace, as Paul said. Paul also said that he is not trying to please men, but to please God. What a difference in this 'pc' generation that is afraid to offend anyone. Many preachers and Christians topday worry more about offending people than offending God. They think they have to tread on egg shells when they talk about Jesus because people may run away. Paul said the opposite. He was there to please God, not men. And Paul said that if anyone adds to the gospel, let him be "accursed", which means "anathema" and also means "condemned to hell". Strong words, but Paul repeated that TWICE for emphasis. When preachers add ANYTHING to 'being saved by grace', they are saying 'Jesus is not enough, you also have to do x, y and z to be saved". Andrew is the first TV preacher I have ever seen who didn't try to hit you over the head with "tithing" or "planting that seed". I will be watching Andrew much more in the coming weeks.
