Last Tuesday Night Steven's Cousin and other half of Burlap to Cashmere, Johnny Phillipides, was in a major accident. He was beaten profusely with a baseball bat. He is in the hospital and it looks like he is going to recover. Here's a message from Steve::
"I would like thank you guys for all your prayers for Johny, the calls and E mails have been so Amazing; Our Family thanks you from the bottom of our hearts. Also I would like to give you a small update, Johny is improving daily. The Doctors are very optomistic and hopeful. Johny is reacting to voices by moving his body, he his still very young and all of his functions are in tact. They operated to remove a blood clot which proved to be very succesful. There is so far no detection of Brain injury. My opinion is that he will heal very fast!!!!! Thanks again for all the thoughts and prayers. It really does help.
Much love,steve.

Christian Musician In Coma After Road-Rage Beating

NEW YORK -- A Christian musician remains hospitalized in a medically-induced coma after being attacked in a road-rage incident in New York City.

Johnny Philippidis, of the duo Burlap to Cashmere, suffered severe facial fractures when he was beaten by another motorist after their vehicles collided last week. Philippidis' sister Nicole said her brother's "face is split in half," but his condition is stable and the family is trusting God to save his life. She said the 27-year-old Philippidis had just finished recording several cuts for an upcoming Burlap to Cashmere album.

Police have questioned a 25-year-old airport security guard who fled the scene of the accident.

"When we spend so much time promoting everything we're against that the message of who we are for gets lost, when Christians are putting everyone else down, how is Jesus lifted up in that?." Doug Fields
