Wasting Time

this is entitled Wasting Time as the topic title states.

as we sit & watch the downward spiral,
      it/spins/as/rain/falls
      it's/as/if/the/sun's/died
as we sit & wonder where all our years have gone,
as we sit & wonder where all our time has gone,
there's nothing left to think but  
      we/let/it/slip/through/our/fingers
      &/we/neglected/what/we/had
we're tired of fast paced living
we're tired of "there's never enough to do"
            or
                        "there's never enough of us"
can't you see that everything is made up?
can't you see that we're pretending we cared
                                when we really wanted to?  
it's not sincere & i'm tired of thinking it was.
                                    tired of thinking these days could've been better spent.
gosh if i could wind this watch backwards
gosh
          if i could
                          set things straight.
