Well, at least REM's European fans have good taste. A banner made by fans in Warsaw: That's gotta make ol' stipe feel pretty good...

Fun facts about Chuck Norris:
Newton's Third Law is wrong: Although it states that for each action, there is an equal and opposite reaction, there is no force equal in reaction to a Chuck Norris roundhouse kick.
Chuck Norris can divide by zero.
Chuck Norris CAN believe it's not butter.

That's Stipe and Buck holding up a banner that some Warsaw fans presented them with. Not sure exactly HOW Reveal changed their lives, but I can certainly believe it.

Well, a brief net search turned up an interview where Stipes says he is bisexual. I don't know if that counts as more interesting or complex though....Just something I didn't know.

Yeah, he is. People used to think he had AIDS, because he's so thin, but he DOESN't!

Yeah, he is. People used to think he had AIDS, because he's so thin, but he DOESN't! Not that it should make any difference whether he does or not. I still want to find out why Reveal changed those fan's lives. Probably impossible to find out, though.

Well, there are a few albums that have changed MY life. Reveal isn't quite one of them at this point, but it's certainly a powerful album, and I suppose it has changed my behavior in subtle ways...

"Reveal" is quite good . . . very underrated.
Hey Josh, do you sometimes wish the drummer would come back for this band? I know you don't like New Adventures or Automatic as much as Reveal, where I do, but I personally like them better with the whole entourage.

I think REM is doing fine without Bill Berry. I love his drumming on New Adventures and Pageant, but I think Reveal sounds fine with the loops and the studio drummer.
Good to hear from another New Adventures fan, by the way. Another underrated REM disc.

Josh,
Do you own all of REM's albums? I only have "Murmur", "Out of Time", "Automatic for the People", "Monster", "New Adventures...", and "Reveal". I've heard most of the others, and I'm working on completing my REM collection. Would you say that's a worthy endeavor, or are there some in their very early catalog that are pretty skippable (the early stuff is where I don't know much of)?

I have everything except Murmur, Reckoning, and Fables. I've heard all of those, and I'd say that all of REM's albums are worth owning, though I'd only pay a discount price for those three that I mentioned.
You MUST get Life's Rich Pageant, Up, and Green ASAP. All three are well worth owning.
I'll be completing my REM collection pretty soon, I hope...
