Hallelujah!!! after nearly a decade the enigmatic Mr. Enigk is going to release a new solo album!

(in case you don't know, Jeremy Enigk was the lead singer/songwriter of Sunny Day Real Estate and is currently the lead singer/songwriter for The Fire Theft)

seeing Sunny Day Real Estate in concert years ago was a nearly spiritual experience for me. it was that good. so naturally i'm extremely glad to know that the LONG awaited follow-up solo album is actually going to happen THIS year.

i may not be able to buy cd's like i used to, but this is one cd that i'd skip meals to get.

yeah, i know. i'm a rabid fanboy when it comes to anything SDRE or Jeremy Enigk.

for anyone unconvinced that they are worth such loyalty, i recommend listening to "How It Feels To Be Something On" by Sunny Day Real Estate.

if you don't think they are a treasure after hearing that, then maybe they are just not for you. but i've gotten many of my friends addicted to SDRE after letting them borrow that album.

I must confess that I've still never heard Sunny Day Real Estate, Tom, despite hearing raves from numerous online friends. My library doesn't have any of their albums, and I can never find 'em used, so I've just never had the chance to try 'em out.

I DO, however, enjoy the debut from The Fire Theft.
