I doubt that ohio will come in the mail tomorrow if you ordered from paste (unless you payed over 20 bucks shipping which is kinda stupid to do but......I love their artists and music but paste is not known for getting stuff to people quickly.  At least the people I know who order from there me included

Generally, I think you'd be right, though sometimes pre-orders come in far in advance, and thus stores can ship them before release date. I pre-ordered a Jars of Clay album once and got it several days in advance. So I'm praying that that'll happen here. But yeah, you're probably right... I'm getting my hopes up...

Yeah I hate to admit this but there was a cd I ordered from them where I payed a ton for overnight shipping and it didnt arrive for over a week.  Also I hear their preorders don't always arrive the day of.  It says they shipped it today on the site (the 18th) so im thinking wed or thurs....but still I love paste, their site, their music, their mag etc and all of my items have arrived that I order from them no problem there but dont get your hopes up ya'll

I wish you spoke for me.  I gotta get a new job before I buy nice things like CDs.  Most of my opinions are coming from downloads right now.   Sad

Sad

I didn't get it.

Not in the regular mail, anyway. I guess it's possible that UPS or FedEx will come by later with it, but I'm doubting it...  Sad

Against my better judgement, I went out and bought the album the olde fashioned way today.  I've listened to the first disc and I think even it needs multiple listens to fully appreciate (which is a good thing).  I'll post more complete comments later.

Hey, good things come to those who wait.  Yours will be signed, will it not?  I just got the same great album at a more premium price with no signature, so I envy you in a way.

Yep, it'll be signed. And with a "special treat." (I've been told that the treat is a couple of free OtR stickers, which isn't anything too special, I guess, but still cool...).

We'll see how the albums grow on me through the rest of the year, but "Ohio" now tops my list of albums for this year.

I live in Illinois...hehe.  I have a crazy idea that maybe since I order from them so much that they were generous and sent it to me so quickly....nonetheless I feel kinda bad.  I didnt want that to sound like a I have the cd and you dont rant.  I seriously thought it would reach everybody when it got here... Usually I am the last one to get it...hehe....however this is truly a great cd.  After writing my previous post about frustation I listened to this album....There is a great amount of healing involved in that disc (in my opinion)

Well, I have my ipod out so I will write the names of the albums of theirs that I have purchased

Till We Have Faces (great book by c.s. lewis too, thats where the title came from)

Eve

Patience

Good Dog Bad Dog (Independent Original)

The Darkest Night Of The Year

Besides

Amateur Shortwave Radio

Good Dog Bad Dog (Rereleased version)

Films For Radio

The Cutting Room Floor

Ohio

As  you can tell I am addicted......this is probably one of my top 3 favorite bands.  Most of these albums I bought at cornerstone this year.  I couldn't help myself....hehe.....Anyway the song Flanders Fields off of patience hits me hard every time I hear it

That's, um, all of them, isn't it?

I have to actually buy a couple more of theirs, but I'm not going to go that nuts.  A couple from the back-catalog is good, considering I've missed them this long, and I like to mostly live in the present.  What do y'all suggest?  I'm thinking Good Dog Bad Dog (rerelease) and Eve.

Those are both great picks, bloop, but I would definitely go with Films for Radio, as well, unless you've got that one already.

Good Dog, Bad Dog is completely indispensible. Other than that.....well, I say you should get all of them.

By the way Josh, I forgot I promised to send you Patience. I'll get right on that.

Ohio arrived today, so Josh's copy is probably in his mailbox too. I'm most of the way through the first disc now; it's amazing. I think I like country music now. But it's not signed! I feel cheated, but I don't care.

May the mailman and I live in eternal peace and friendship.

Nathan: Oh yeah, Patience would be lovely.

Everyone else: Ohio did indeed come today. And boy... this is an astonishing record. It's a true must hear, and my first impression is that it's the most rewarding album I've heard since All That You Can't Leave Behind. Ohio is a masterpiece. "Suitcase" is breathtaking. "Show Me" is irresistable. "Lifelong Fling" is sexy. "Changes Come" will leave you stunned.

My mailman: I guess we're cool now, you and I. Just see that this never happens again.

after hearing all the hype from bloop, Josh, and Cory, I listened to some clips of "Ohio" last night...

Now I wish I hadn't, cause I think I'm gonna have to buy this album  blink ...I already had quite a few CD's on my to-get list...I'll just have to bump one off...

any chance any of them will go back into print?  I looked up "Eve" and, being out of print, I couldn't find it for less than $25.  That's a lot of $ for a CD, ya know.

Yeah, you should definitely get it, cbluejays.  It's the album to beat from this year thus far IMO.  The bonus track does something really strange on my CD player, though, and I don't really know how to explain it.  It'll play if I go to track 10 and press "forward one", but it won't play if I play track 10 and wait for it to play through.  It just freezes at around 5:10 or something like that (which, thankfully, is after track 10 is done I think...it's at least a logical stopping point).

thanks for the suggestions in the rap thread, btw.  I'm definitely going to be checking out some of those.

I've now listened to Disc 1 thrice and Disc 2 twice, and yeah... these records are BOTH amazing. Two of the fienst discs to come along since Reveal and Films for Radio... and, really, I think Ohio will top both of those albums eventually. In my mind, anyway.

So, for those who have Ohio... with double albums, everyone always has at least one song that they wish had been left off. Are there any that you would have booted? There's just one track that I'm not crazy about: "When You Say Love." Every other song, though, is masterful.

I need to listen to it a bit more to really tell which songs I don't really think belong, but so far, I haven't had the overwhelming desire to skip any of them . . . a very good sign for a double album.

"When You Say Love" is so out of place that I think OtR is just providing us with a runt, so they can laugh at us. Maybe we'll all love that song in a few weeks. Changes come.
