Ok, I'm chaperoning our church's youth group trip to AtlantaFest tomorrow. Here's who's playing:

Like Father Like Son
Fireflight
This Beautiful Republic
Falling Up
Monday Morning
Hawk Nelson
Kutless (NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!)
DecembeRadio
Relient K

So ... who's worth getting out of line for a roller coaster for? We're requiring everyone to see Relient K, since it's the last show and it'll make leaving the park together easier, but anyone else good live?

Fireflight
Falling Up
Monday Morning
Relient K

I've heard of Fireflight, and what I have heard is positive.  I have the albums by both Falling Up and Monday Morning.  I like their music enough to want to see them myself, so that it at that.  I've heard Falling Up is pretty impressive live.  Relient K is definitely a get out the line type of band, but you have to be there anyway.

I have only seen three of those listed artists live: Relient K, Falling Up and Fireflight.  I say definitely see Falling Up.  I enjoyed their show a lot when I saw them.  Fireflight I thought was good, but not overly outstanding.  I still think they're worth cutting out of a roller coaster line to see, but they're not the kind of band I'd catch every time they came to town.  Relient K is also pretty good live, but you're going to see them anyway.

As for the other bands I haven't seen, the only one that interests me is Monday Morning.

i have seen Monday Morning live (like 2 weeks ago) and they put on a good show, or they did in the very small setting I saw them in.  I would recommend them.

i've been told Falling Up is pretty cool live, that would probably be my second choice.

i partly saw Hawk Nelson earlier this year at Winter Jam, but I was in a youth minister's meeting and then in line at a concession stand during parts of it, so I didn't really get a good feel for them live.  I like their new album a lot though.

Falling Up is OK live. The music is energetic. The piano and DJ stuff are hard to hear, and the vocal layering is pretty much nonexistent live (Jessy screams a little more because his singing doesn't sound as good), but they're fun.

Relient K is the only must-see on that list, I think. But you already knew that about them.

ditto Reliant K. they're the only group in that list i'd take a gander at. but honestly, i haven't even heard most of those other bands. admittedly, i'm kind of out of the loop for new CCM teen-emo screamo stuff. the closest i get to appreciating that style is "The Moon Is Down" Further Seems Forever.

Thanks for the suggestions. Relient K put on a very good show (especially since they had to use Festival stage set up). They premeired a new song, "Bite My Tongue." Quite catchy. Very fun medley of Top Gun tunes, plus the highlights from "Mmhmm" (which Matt said he hates having to say the album title out loud!) and "3 lefts don't make a right..." It's always fun to see bells and banjo at a punk show!

Only other band I caught was DecembeRadio, since they were the warm-up for Relient K. Nice southern rock sound. Kind of reminded my of Third Day when they still rocked out. DIdn't catch most of the lyrics, so no idea how good they are.
