Quick heads up: Tonight, Bart Ehrman-- liberal, agnostic, biblical scholar, lousy historian, media darling, opponent of orthodox Christianity-- is going to be the guest on The Colbert Report, no doubt trying to sell a few copies of whatever new conspiracy theories he's dug up. So, here's a chance to see these ideas in action! Should be interesting (and maybe depressing).

Erhman's a fun guy. My Late Antiquity prof last semester had a pretty low view of him. He said something along the lines of him being more interested in getting notoriety than getting the story right. Gotta love Proffesor Winn. Despite this we read a book of primary resources compiled by him, with commentary to start each section. Interesting stuff. Much of what we read had to deal with canon and the establishment of what we know as orthodoxy.
