Ahem. (If other people would like to start their own list, go for it, but do it in a separate thread to keep things from getting to confusing.) Having said that: 1. The Elms, "The Way I Will" 2. Fiddler on the Roof soundtrack, "Sunrise, Sunset" 5. Sufjan Stevens, "The Trees of the Field Shall Clap Their Hands" 9 sounds familiar, but I can't place it. 10. Jason Mraz, "I'll Do Anything" 13 also sounds vaguely familiar. 22. Sixpence None the Richer, "I've Been Waiting" 24. Sleeping at Last, "Currents" 27. Switchfoot, "Concrete Girl" 30. U2 (or possibly P.O.D.), "Bullet the Blue Sky"

Since it's been a day, I'll give some hints on the remaining ones.
1. This song title is quoted in the lyric snippet.
10. The band name is potentially X-rated, but is not indicative of the gender of the band members.
11. Don't confuse this guy with the creator of Veronica Mars. He's from a toy car band.
17. Lesser-known song by an extremely popular Orange County, California band whose singer recently did the solo album thing. Their name means total assurance.
24. Possibly fewer than one of the Lost numbers. Two artists collaborated on the CD that this comes from.
28. See #17.

9. This band is no longer together; their name was an oxymoron. "Bring It On" -All Together Separate. I had to search through my ATS tunes to find this one. 21. See #15. "Smile" -Kutless. It just came to me after you said the song and band sucks.

In that case, 20 is a Mark Schultz song, but I haven't a clue as to which one.

I think 10 is called "Enid". I don't know who it's by. I'll guess Caedmon's Call.

Since it's been a day, I'll give some hints on the remaining ones.
This is almost like that "band name" thing I've seen... 1. This band will give you everything you want. They're also what you see when flying sideways.
Vertical Horizon. 10. I'm surprised nobody got this one, as it's a line from the chorus (which starts off the song) and it contains the song title. I know at least one person here has heard the song. The band name is potentially X-rated.
Butthole Surfers? 11. Don't confuse this guy with the creator of Veronica Mars. He's from a toy car band.
I saw "Mars" and thought David Bowie. You know, with those spiders and all. Toy car band...uh...Matchbox 20? 12. This would only be possible if 9.8 meters per second squared was a repulsive force.
Torn apart by gravity? I'm stumped. . 18. Yo! Coldplay doesn't rap. But this guy's other songs make it sound like they do.
Obviously Mat Kearney. But DGP got that (and #20, which was also obvious) 26. This band is not alright. Part of their name is Latin.
Obviously Sanctus Real. I got that from the first clue but didn't log on before the second was up.

Vertical Horizon. Yes. Butthole Surfers? No. See that clue again; I've added a little more. Toy car band...uh...Matchbox 20? Yes, but the song is by a solo artist from that band.

Song title was already guessed by Danny; I'll credit you both for it. I've added a scoreboard. Guessing a song before the hints were offered gets you a full point; guessing after a hint gives you half a point. (I split the credit for "Enid" and gave both Danny and dgp 0.5 for it; other than that, whoever was the first to name both song title and artist got the credit.) NP: "Trampoline", Dakona

Actually, I didn't see the clue. I was just up later than usual last night and thought I'd see what this song meme was, and noticed a line I recognized off the top of my head and nobody else had gotten. To all pub participants (minus myself and Murlough): I had pubbed that song, so shame on you for not getting it
