While we're in a game-playing mode, I thought I'd bring this game back for another round.

Only this time, the object is to spell out a few song titles by the same artist in rebus mode, and people have to guess the artist based on the song titles.

I'll start with a few easy ones:

ONE (Solved: Radiohead, "Fake Plastic Trees", "Paranoid Android", "A Wolf at the Door")

a. b. c.

TWO (Solved: Jars of Clay, "Revolution", "Sad Clown", "Scarlet")

a. b. c.

THREE (Partially solved: Coldplay, "The Scientist", "Speed of Sound", ???)

a. b. c.

EDIT: Resized pics and uploaded to Photobucket to save bandwidth and space on the page, and avoid people looking at image filenames.

1 is Radiohead, definitely.  (Fake Plastic Trees, Paranoid (finger-pointing) Android, A Wolf (in this case, Wolves) at the Door)

I have a very good idea of who the second one is, but I'll leave it to someone else.

I'm thinking 2. is Sufjan Stevens with the songs being, A Sun Came, John Wayne Gacy Jr., and maybe the Dress Looks Nice On You? Not sure about the last one... In fact I'm starting to second guess all my answers...oh well..

That's hilarious, and it almost works, but no. That's not it.

bloop is right on #1, by the way.

I guess #2 and #3 are a little harder... but they are songs by artists who are fairly well-known. It's figuring out the song titles that is the hard part; once you get those, the artist should be easy.

Think about who's in the picture rather than what she's wearing.

Is #2 Jars of Clay (Sad Clown, Scarlett)? I guess the first one would be Sunny Days, but that's without doing any research on their titles and I only have some of their albums.

Yeah, I did that at first, but I didn't really know of any songs about Scarlett or Johanssen...*internet shrug*

Jars of Clay is correct for #2, but the first song is not Sunny Days. Think about what the Earth is doing in that picture.

Coldplay is correct for #3, but the third song is not Trouble. Think about what object is in that picture.

A few more to keep you guys busy (y'all can feel free to contribute some - you don't necessarily have to have only one picture to sum up a song title, as a true rebus strings different pictures together, but I find it fun and challenging to use single pictures):

FOUR (Solved: Over the Rhine: "Firefly", "Moth", "Spark")

a. b. c.

FIVE (Solved: Incubus, "A Crow Left of the Murder", "11am", "Clean")

a. b. c.

SIX (Solved: Mae, "Suspension", "Breakdown", "Skyline Drive")

a. b.
c.

I believe Six is Mae. I can't imagine that there'd be that many songs named "Suspension".

Picture 7A is the Texas state flag. I don't know what song that could be...

Some more new ones to keep people busy who didn't get to the others quicky enough - though we still need some songs identified for #2, #3, and #6. A few of these new ones have two pictures for a few song A instead of one, so don't get confused.

EIGHT (Partially solved: Sufjan Stevens, "Abraham", "Holland", "Romulus")

a. b.
c.

NINE (Solved: Plumb, "Drugstore jesus", "Bittersweet", "Willow Tree")

a.
b. c.

TEN (Unsolved)

b. c.

Nine is Plumb, the first song is Drugstore Jesus, not sure about the others.

You're right about the artist. For the second song, think about what kind of chocolate it is.

Correct about "Breakdown". For C, I added the inset map to tell you where the place is; you might have to do a little research on Shenandoah to figure it out if you're never been there. (For the record, I've never been there, nor to any other East Coast State, but I figured some East-Coasters on the board might have.)

Skyline Drive!  ha!  I had to look up their discography, but I got it...I should have, I'm only a few hours from the Shenandoah.

yep, and thanks!  happy I wasn't sure how easy it would be to identify Florence but the actual bird didn't seem all that distinctive either.

That would be correct. The other one is one of her newer songs.

To help with #8, two of the photographs are places. One real, one science-fictional. I actually changed the picture for #8C because it might be easier to identify the place by the beings who live there.

Josh might be good at identifying #10.

Is #8 Sufjan?

"Abraham," "Holland," and, uh, "Vulcan"? (I can't remember if there's actually a Sufjan song with that last title, but it sounds like it could be...)

OH! Duh! "Romulus."

Yeah, that's it. #10 should be totally up your alley, but the song choices might be odd. In the meantime, for those who have already been stumped by #10 for days, here are some others. (And other folks can feel free to create their own, too.)

ELEVEN (Solved: Eisley, "Golly Sandra", "Plenty of Paper", "Lost at Sea")

a.
b. c.

TWELVE (Solved: U2, "The Fly", "11 O'Clock Tick Tock", "Discotheque")

11. Eisley, Golly Sandra?, Plenty of Paper, Lost at Sea

Correct. If you're confused about how that works out to "Golly Sandra", it's a gully, and then Sandra Bullock.

I'm going to guess that #13 is Starflyer 59, with the last song being "Play the C Chord", but I can't figure out the others because I don't know the band that well.

That is correct, just two titles to go.

In my half asleep state, I figured out 12.

U2, The Fly, 11 O'clock Tick Tock, Discotheque

You're right about Blue Collar Love, the second one, no, it's a tricky one, since the title is in another language, but it applies to what the man in the photo is.

I'm also stumped on that new one. Can't even begin to figure it out.

By the way, the third Coldplay song that you guys never got was "Warning Sign".
