Silliest thing I've heard all day, from an Amazon.com review, talking about Rufus Wainwright's cover of "Hallelujah" (the same "Hallelujah" that Buckley covered):

Quote
Hallelujah as well gets quite annoying but if you're into religious music it is a good version of the praise the lord theme.

Um... did you listen to the words of this song AT ALL?!?

Right on both counts. It's one of my all-time favorite songs, and nobody sings quite like Buckley.

i was some of a jeff buckley freak for awhile. i bought a book called "dream brother" about tim buckley, jeff's father, and then jeff himself. really sad. jeff seemed to be constantly seeking somethng, probably his father, who technically abandoned him for his own music and life and then died from a drug overdose.
Grace is an amazing album. i loved Vanilla Sky, not just because it played radiohead in the fist 2 minutes, but it played jeff buckley too, very nice.

the song 'hallelujah' is one of my all-time favorites, too. i actually like Rufus Wainwright's version better tho'. it's on the shrek soundtrack.

speaking of which, there's another amazing song on there by jason wade of lifehouse called 'you belong to me'. it's sooooo beautiful.  anybody heard it?

"You Belong To Me" is a beautiful song.  I don't know if I've ever heard Wade's version of it, though.
