I was at a resteraunt. I ordered a chicken sandwich, but I don't think the waitress understood me. Cuz she said "how would you like your eggs?". So I tried to answer her anyhow, I said incubated, and then raised, and then beheaded, and then plucked, and then cut up, and then put on a grill, and then put on to a bun. cool. I'm not a fan of Christmas or most Christmas music and I don't have OtR's other Christmas album but I will get this one. I've heard a few of the songs on various concert recordings and I love All I Ever Get For Christmas Is Blue.

Both. I'm so excited about pre-ordering it, and yet I don't know how I'm going to afford it and make it work, but I definitely will. On Monday!

I'll listen to it next year, when I'm not in a mad rush to listen to a bunch of other projects before the year ends, and when it's more readily available to the public. I'm just not in the mood for Christmas music this year, even from Sufjan, so I don't think I'm in the proper place to receive it from OtR.

their myspace page has an additional two songs you can listen to (but not download). I like Here It Is quite a bit. right now I'm waffling about whether to pre-order or not. I love OtR but I didn't listen much to Live From Nowhere vol. 1, and me and the few Christmas songs I do like don't get along for very long. and call me ugly names, but as much as I love Karin's voice, I don't care for the layered background vocal thing they do sometimes on studio recordings. I end up listening to concert recordings more often. but I guess I will buy the cds anyway to support the band. on the OtR board someone brought up how Paste holds orders until everything can be shipped. if I do preorder, I don't want to wait for LfN2 to come out before I get SA, but neither do I want to put in two orders and pay for shipping twice. *stingypoker*

You should upload those - they changed the link before most of us could grab them. (and some of us might not be ordering right away, but still want to hear these...)

Got my copy in the mail today. I never got around to pre-ordering it, but Linford was nice enough to send me one as an early Christmas gift. (They also sent me a candy cane.)

Really, has anyone gotten this yet that preordered it? I'm starting to get a little irritated, if only because I already paid for it and all.

Nope, not yet. Kinda sucky to preorder a Christmas album and then not get it til two weeks before Christmas (assuming it comes sometime this week).

I'm really hoping mine comes today, because I had it shipped to my apartment thinking surely it would come before I went home for Christmas. I'll be pretty said if I don't get it until I come back for next semester.

My gosh. These guys just keep getting better. It almost seems unfair to other bands for so much talent to be concentrated in a little husband-wife duo from Ohio.
Last night was my fourth OtR show, and it's easily the best one I've seen. Their new band has to be seen to be believed-- particularly drummer Micky Grimm, whose animated facial expressions and powerful stage presence contribute much to the band's stage dynamic. The man sang harmony vocals on "Darlin'" that were great, but it was his extended solo at the end of "Hungry Jack's Valentine" that blew us all away; he wailed away for what seemed like several minutes, with a ferocity I've never seen matched at any rock and roll show. The audience-- and other band members-- were visibly astonished as we all watched this Peter Buck look-alike defy the laws of physics. When the storm was over, Linford, in disbelief, looked around and said, "Anybody have anything they wanna add?"
Only three old-school OtR songs were played-- "Hungry Jack" and a pair of songs from Drunkard's Prayer. "Fever" opened the show. And a number of the new Christmas songs made appearances, including a spirited take on "Darlin'" and a playful version of "North Pole Man"-- a song described by Karin as "good clean raunch."
And speaking of Karin... it was her birthday, and the crowd celebrated accordingly. It was also her first show after several days of sick leave; she was still suffering from a bad bug, but that didn't stop her from belting it out. I took a couple of OtR neophytes to the show with me, and they were both astonished-- "Where does that voice COME from?"
Oh yeah, and there were some new songs. And man oh man... if these performances were any indication, the next album is going to be an instant Over the Rhine classic. "Trouble" was tighter, sexier than ever before, and "I Don't Want to Waste Your Time" has received a new, slow-burning arrangement that works much better than earlier incarnations of the song. "The Trumpet Child" is one of the most moving things these guys have ever written. "Nothing is Innocent Now" is a spooky, harrowing, and timely song that would have been a highlight on Ohio. "Who Am I Kidding" is the nastiest, angriest rock song they've done since "Daddy Untwisted." And, best of all, "If A Song Could be President," with its shout-outs to Neil Young and Emmylou Harris, is a gorgeous country song that's both one of the saddest and funniest things they've done.
Linfored and Karin dueted on the concert closer-- "Baby it's Cold Outside," with Linford mumbling his lyrics with perfect comedic timing. It's sure to be on the Live from Nowhere Vol. 2 collection.
I can't believe how good this band is. In many ways, it seems like they're just now starting to do some of their best work.

I agree Josh. OTR with a full band absolutely blows away every other live show I've seen. People left their Cornerstone show a few years back in tears, and there was a definite reluctance to let it end. I hope I get to another one someday.
