I did most of my Christmas shopping today. I ended up spending money on all of the following:
A peppermint mocha (for me) The new Tony Hillerman novel (for my grandfather) A paperback copy of the graphic novel "Watchmen" (for me) A pair of earrings (for my grandmother) A CD and a DVD for my mom Arrested Development, season 2 (for me, though my whole family and my roommates will cherish it as well) A legal pad (for me) A Diet Coke with Lime (for me)
Why is it that these Christmas shopping trips tend to involve me spending more money on myself than anyone else?

I consider stuff like that to be akin to "a Sustaining Book, such as would help and comfort a Wedged Bear in Great Tightness", but for shopping. someone at work gave me three oatmeal cookies.

Petra's Jeckyll and Hyde...that sounds like an old one but after googling, I see that I'm getting it mixed up with Whiteheart's Dr. Jekyll/Mr. Christian song.
I hope you unacquire the flu soon, Josh P.
this morning I threw away a bunch of junk that has been lying around. not even sure now what it was. I also reacquired a pair of wearable pants, since I finally sewed the button back on.
and I acquired an addition temporary position at the company I currently work for part-time.

I acquired a job interview in California. Don't tell anyone (else), but this will be my first time in CA, and also one of the first interviews I've been to where I actually really want the job.

It's in Mountain View, which appears to be a satellite city of San Jose. I'm not entirely sure how much I can say about the interview or the company at this point (if it's not too obvious given the city ), but afterwards once I've read and signed all the paperwork maybe I can say more.

oh yeah, I recently acquired a hip flask with the Playboy bunny logo on it. I was cleaning out an office and apparently the previous occupant had left it. (it was brand new in a box and in the bottom of a junk drawer.) it was going to be thrown away and I thought hey I can take the fabric with the logo off and do something else with the flask. so yeah.

last night I got a free meal and coffee at work and a free peppermint mocha trio and snickerdoodle cookie from the Borders cafe. a free food day is a good day. ...I hadn't finished the cookie last night (wasn't really hungry) and am trying to do so right now, but it isn't as good as it looked. it has the texture of an unrisen cake.

I got a $10 Wal-Mart gift card and a gift bag of food and a stuffed bear from work.
I also was given a christmas card from a photographer friend of mine. I wasn't expecting it and it looks like he made it, it looks fantastic and has his adorable son on it. It made my day a little brighter since I've been dealing with customers all day.

I bought 15 CD-sized padded envolopes from walmart today so I can start selling some more of these CDs. The one I bought from USPS to mail TheWander's CDs was waaaay to expensive ($1.39/ea). These were 46 cents each. Also got a bag of Jelly Belly's for myself and one for my mom.

I used to get the padded cd envelopes, but we have a bunch of those regular kraft envelopes so I got a roll of bubble wrap and just cut the envelopes down and use those.
got a Lost puzzle and one of those puzzle rolls for a gift. and a pair of pants and a shirt, which is too tube-ishly small and will have to be returned. also mango sour altoids, which are addictive.
