2.  "Can't Erase It", Jars of Clay

Good job. That's actually the demo version from The White Elephant Sessions; the lyrics got shuffled around a little bit in the final version on If I Left the Zoo.

People seem to be having a tough time hre, so I'll give some hints:

1. This band's named after something you can find in Playboy, and on this song, they collaborated with an act you can see performing in Vegas.

4. This band derives its name from a "celestial" Bruce Cockburn song.

5. This song is one of this infernal band's most well-known hits. (Not that they've had that many.)

6. This band's name makes me think of spelunking and gardening.

7. This solo artist used to be in a band whose name was inspired by a character from Star Trek's Mirror Universe.

8. This band's lead singer has more recently been annoying me with her solo material.

9. If you don't count bands with numeric names, this female artist comes up first in the list of music folders on my PC, sorted alphabetically.

10. You might see this if you're flying sideways.

11. The first word of this song is almost its title. The guy who sings it used to be a surfer.

15. Very old song by an extremely popular band who has 2 other songs in this meme.

16. The lead singer of this band, for whom it is named, lives in a house formerly owned by the guy who invented Dr. Pepper.

17. In order to name a folder after this band on my PC, I have to leave out the punctuation at the end.

18. This song is the title track of an album brought to you by two letters.

20. This slightly funk-inspired, and now defunct, Christian band had a name that was an oxymoron.

21. You would be in church each morning if this band's name were true.

24. This singer's name is part Austria and part China.

25. This song comes from a soon-to-be-released album by a very "dependable" band.

26. The "Rio" which this song refers to is one of many tourist destinations in the city that this band calls home.

27. This song comes from an indie album by a band that people got rather "wound up" about a few years later.

28. An insomniac who finds relief might be said to be doing this.

29. Another infernal band, but not the same one as #5. This song comes from an EP.

I don't know the songs but it's fun to try to guess the clues.

1. This band's named after something you can find in Playboy, and on this song, they collaborated with an act you can see performing in Vegas.
my first thought was The New Pornographers but I don't suppose you find pornographers in Playboy. Bare Naked Ladies?

6. This band's name makes me think of spelunking and gardening.
Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds (heh, when you first posted this meme, this one stood out as something I might like, so I googled to find out who the artist is. but then just now I forgot and had fun figuring out the clue. when you get the chance, could you pub this song? I'd like to hear it.)

21. You would be in church each morning if this band's name were true.
Everyday Sunday

24. This singer's name is part Austria and part China.
the word Sino-Austrian came to mind. not sure where I even heard of this word. anyway, Vienna Teng. not sure if I know the song or not. I can kind of hear something in my head but then the rest of the words don't seem to go.

28. An insomniac who finds relief might be said to be doing this.
must be Sleeping At Last.
