i'm confused...did you just put a score for your own review? and is that a hint? haha. Bloop: 4 Brenden: 3 Josh: 4 Murlough: 3 NinjaRob: 4 Plvarona: 3 This is the first time there has been multiple albums you guys chose that i personally like a ton, which means i'm gonna have to put aside personal biases on about 3 of them...Anberlin, Copeland, and Lovedrug.

I was at a resteraunt. I ordered a chicken sandwich, but I don't think the waitress understood me. Cuz she said "how would you like your eggs?". So I tried to answer her anyhow, I said incubated, and then raised, and then beheaded, and then plucked, and then cut up, and then put on a grill, and then put on to a bun. Damn, it's gonna take a while! I don't have time - scrambled! -- Mitch Hedberg

Well, my watch says it's past 10 PM Eastern Time on Tuesday, and I'm going to be on the road for most of tomorrow which means I will be unavailable for much of the day. Might as well post my verdict now while I have a chance.
Album Reviewed: Wake Up! Wake Up! - Everyday Sunday
Pros: This album contains Everyday Sunday's catchiest songs to date, most notably the title-track and "Apathy For Apologies." I also liked how the band tweaked with their sound a little bit in the second half of the CD by throwing in some occasionally electronic elements. This helped to keep the sound a little more interesting while staying within the punk-ish flavored pop-rock area. This CD is pretty fun to listen to, if I don't pay too much attention to the lyrics.
Cons: The lyrics continue to be a major weakness, as they really held back a few songs from being truly great (most notably "Let's Go Back" and "Take Me Out.") The dullest song on the CD, "Find Me Tonight", is also the first radio single. Considering that there are only 10 songs on the CD, having any bad songs is a major problem.
The Bottom Line: I think this is Everyday Sunday's best CD to date, although it can be very fun and a little frustrating at the same time.
Rating: This CD fell squarely at 3.5 stars for me. A part of me wants to round up, but ultimately, weak lyrics and too many subpar songs force me to round down to a "C+" here. For the purpose of this game, that is 3 stars.
On Deck For Next Week: Nine Inch Nails' Year Zero. I believe they have that entire CD on their myspace page.

Copeland fought the good fight despite my determination not to like them after seeing two lackluster concert performances. What can I say, they do the pretty slow-burn better than Coldplay. It's their up-tempo cuts that really seem to lack zest. The presence of a few songs that feel incomplete on Eat, Sleep, Repeat also bogs the album down a little bit, but when this band takes the time to really let a song unfold, they score big. I like some of the sonic experimentation, too. Really, there's no song that annoys me so much as to make its presence on the album absolutely unnecessary (except for "I'm Safer on an Airplane" - it's too mechanical to really fit), so while I wish the album didn't feel so incomplete, I still find myself strangely drawn to it. I'll give it a B-, which means 4 stars.
Next round: Neal Morse's Sola Scriptura, if I can manage to download it. If not, I'll come up with something else.

I've never been a big Bright Eyes fan. This album, however, holds my attention better than previous albums. His voice isn't as weak, either. There's still too much that doesn't grab me for me to give it too high of a rating, but it's good enough to earn a B-. So, 4 stars.

This album isn't too bad. B, or 4 stars.
I think I'll do NIN's Year Zero also.

Well, Dern. I hate to help everyone like this, but you have me here. This album screams "B" from bloop, or 4 stars.
Next: Year Zero, Nine Inch Nails, for lack of another concept album.

I'm still debating whether I should bump it up to an A-, since my opinion of several songs has improved since I reviewed it. NP: "Careful Now", Copeland

B/4 stars for GP. It's a fine album, with a few moments of real greatness and one or two songs that don't quite work. Not quite as good as Your Country, and certainly not a classic like Squeezing Out Sparks, but still quite good.
Next round: Pulp, This is Hardcore
