mine was the only ugh! vote in the vampires poll and so far the only one in the zombies poll. I need a pair of Ugh! boots.
I love autumn, but around this time of year half the craft-related blogs I read feature gross-looking projects related to Halloween. I especially hate the zombie-related stuff. I don't get the appeal at all.

Now I want to go as a Zom-bee: an undead bumblebee.

If you don’t have freedom as a principle, you can never see a reason not to make an exception. There are constantly going to be times when for one reason or another there’s some practical convenience in making an exception. rms

The phrase is kind of annoying, but I've found that with some people it's the only way to coexist.
(Obviously, I hate it the most when I'm obviously right and every argument of theirs has been shot down, and then they bust out "agree to disagree").

I reflexively chose 'very cool' because I, like many young men of today, think ninja are pretty rad. But then I thought about the anime ninja and Naruto and all that nonsense, and I decided that while ninja might be very cool in my mind, I prefer my own idealized conception of a ninja to others' idealized conceptions of ninja.
(The actual ninja, inasmuch as we know anything at all about the actual ninja, were what our modern society would consider terrorists. Granted, they were also what American society circa two hundred and fifty years ago would have considered patriots. If you were Japanese at that time you probably felt like ninja were one of those extremes, based on whether you were their targets or not.)
I guess I feel about ninja the same way I feel about pirates and vikings: the idealized version is pretty sweet, but I doubt I would like actually meeting any of these.
