Radiohead auctioned off tickets for an L.A. show to benefit Haiti, but the sale ended this morning.

Music is alright. Vocalist is downright awful. Gives hardcore a bad name.

I'm glad you checked it out! I actually like the vocals. It seems very passionate and heartfelt to me. It also reminds me of Life In Your Way and they're my favorite hardcore band.

No problem! I'm glad I read through the list a second time. Somehow I missed Thrice on there the first time.

I downloaded Copeland's but I haven't listened to it yet. How was the Thrice session? I think I downloaded ten or so sessions, hopefully I'll get around to listening to some of these over the weekend. I've gotten so much new music lately I don't know how I'm ever going to catch up.

Well that's a bummer, I've always been a big fan of his voice on record.

Me too. I first heard the band live and was convinced that they sucked until I realized I was gonna have to see them live again, opening for Switchfoot, and I decided to download one of their albums and unexpectedly fell in love with it. The live performance was still "meh".

I've been thinking about making a trip to see their farewell tour, but I'm currently undecided. It may be worth it just to see Deas Vail again, even if Copeland aren't any good live.

I was listening to the daytrotter session of Carly Simon's You're So Vain. you know how it goes--"you're so vain, I bet you think this song is about you, don't you, don't you". then I listened to the Andrew Bird session of Lull. that's the song that goes "I'm so lame I bet I think this song's about me, don't I, don't I, don't I". this makes me inordinately happy. "you're so lame, I bet you listen to that other song after this song..."

anyone had any problems with that? i downloaded a couple of songs off that, and it's messed with my iTunes, or seems to a little anyways, ever since. or else it's a heck of a coincidence if that's not what it is, b/c 2 of the 3 times i've opened iTunes since those downloads, I've had issues.

I've only put the Copeland session on my Itunes so far, but it didn't cause any problems for me. I feel horrible posting a link that may be responsible for messing up your Itunes. I'm so sorry if that's the case.

it may not be that, i was just concerned b/c i had problems even opening iTunes two of the first three times after downloading Avett Bros songs off that link. just checking to see if anyone else had problems. don't feel bad, i don't THINK it's a major thing, it just scared me at first.

I've just been streaming stuff direct from the website. Most live/acoustic cuts are stuff I listen to once out of curiosity, but I almost never find it to be superior to the album versions, thus I don't want a ton of alternate takes of songs cluttering up my iTunes library.

Come and Live Records offers their albums for free download. It's the label run by former Tooth & Nail A&R guy, Chad Johnson. You can download their albums at http://comeandlive.com/downloads . I especially recommend the Sons of God EP and the So Long Forgotten album. Judging by the sampler you can download this could very well be my future favorite record label!

That's interesting. I actually saw them in concert about 4 years ago (they opened for Cool Hand Luke) and I thought they were terrible. In fact, I kept saying "O brother" to myself during the set. Then again, they could have actually gotten better since then.

Yeah, I wasn't real impressed with that EP. I'm not sure why they have so much hype around them recently.
