Well, when I was gone to SC Fru called me and gave me the good news, it's here. At first I didn't believe him, but his story gained credibility when he gave me the date (the 23rd, the first day of the World Wide Developer Conference 2003). I checked it out for myself when I got home and I am still trying to contain the drool (several days later). IBM's PowerPC 970 is a 64 bit processor long talked about in Mac Rumor sites and it is now known as the G5 and is the newest processor for Apple computers. (and running and running) They have realeased three models the best of which is the dual processor (meaning there are two) 2Ghz PowerMac G5. I just like saying that: G5.

A dual processor 2ghz 64-bit machine? Nice. Very nice. Now all they need to do is toss all their proprietary code and just run FreeBSD on it, and it would make the BEST webserver ^_^
