Leave.
Strange.
Imitation of Life.
Endgame.
Try Not to Breathe
Belong.

I'm surprised that nobody got any of those - none of them were particularly difficult (although I suppose it's easy enough to forget the title of an instrumental piece).

You're right; I should have gotten all of those. I was thinking too hard.

I give up.

Yeesh - try not to imagine the ending. My beloved automobile. Have faith. Don't take that away from me. Doctor's lobby. I, who's pathetic. Your tune.

OK, so nobody tried this one. See, Murlough introduced this game at CMC a few years ago and this band was one of his first few puzzles. "Try not to imagine the ending" is "Don't Dream it's Over" - and I figured that would give this away for the slightly more difficult ones. I only did really easy ones and new songs.

My beloved automobile. = My Dear Machine
Have faith. = Trust
Don't take that away from me. = Give it Back
Doctor's lobby. = The Waiting Room
I, who's pathetic. = Loser Like Me
Your tune. = Melody of You

...and no, I'm not telling you who the artist is.

I don't know the titles of any of Sixpence's new songs, and there weren't that many clues to begin with, so I assumed it was an artist I wasn't familiar with.

Ever heard of the Full Monty?

And getting a raw deal means you got screwed over by someone trying to cheat you.

Maybe I should have said "Mr. Python was the recipient of an uncooked transaction."

Coldplay?

770 mph is the Speed of Sound.

Actually, I think I see a few others here:

Convoluted reasoning = Twisted Logic
None of us are dynamic = We Never Change
All Stuff Can Be Found = Everything's Not Lost
Hazard Indicator = Warning
Yahweh brightened your countenance = God Put A Smile Upon Your Face
Experimental individual = The Scientist
Upgraded sundials = Clocks
A conveyance of information not to be overheard = Whisper

Coldplay?

Yes.

Hazard Indicator = Warning

All of your answers so far are right except for this one (you're on the right track, but the song title is inaccurate).

All of those are correct (it's "A Message", and "Cowardly, according to cowboys" was all one clue, but that's inconsequential; you got the right answers).

"Warning" shoud be "Warning Sign".

In my defense, I only picked up A Rush of Blood to the Head this past weekend - I haven't hadn't a chance to really get to know any of their non-Parachutes material yet.

There are 4 left from Rush, and 1 left from Parachutes. I didn't throw anything from the new album in there since it's not out yet. And there's no pre-Parachutes material on the list. That oughta narrow it down.

Schil, I remembered liking one that you had for "Lucy", but I didn't realize you had a larger set. In the interest of following the "don't be a dick" rule of courtesy, here are her clues, my similar clues, and their answers:

lacking someone in first place  = There is no first place. = Nobody Number One
round on both ends and high in the middle = Midwestern state. = OHIO
Missourian motto = Missouri's nickname. = Show Me (oddly enough, neither clue was particularly good, since it's actually part of the nickname)
but is it hello? = Goodbye (This is not Goodbye) (I did not include this one)
the doctor is in and dislikes the beagle = Lucy (I knew I couldn't top Schil's)
my holiday gifts are without exception the same cerulean = All I Ever Get For Christmas is Blue (which I didn't try)

No on the first one. I probably should have noted that as difficult - the song sort of has two titles. It's also one of the few songs of theirs that I really don't like.

Moth is correct, but that clue looks very good next to the one after it, so I'll leave it in for now.

I'm surprised that nobody chuckled at some of my clues actually being song lyrics.

LOL. nobody wants to play the other game. and I think I've given enough time for someone else to work on your OtR set. so I am going to partake of the fun. the ones that have lyrics in them are confusing. also a few share words with the title so maybe they're not right either.

Just all is required = All I Need Is Everything
Ought = Should
Guesses from the murderous driver's distracting passenger = Conjectures of a Guilty Bystander
A type of bug attracted to light = Moth
A type of bug that gives off light = Firefly
"Dear God, I am hung over" = Drunkard's Prayer

I left easy-to-trace graffiti on a bridge = I Painted My Name?
It's in a man's pocket (it can't be Il Est Dans Mon Poche because that would be too easy and "mon poche" is "my pocket". they don't seem to have a song called Handkerchief, Pocketwatch, or Wallet though. don't tell me it has to do with a gun or happy to...be so.)
A place to stop if you want to die. (this one is difficult) = Toledo? Ruby Tuesday? Little Town?

also I want to note that nobody has guessed at the one I keep adding things to! (it's here.)

Nope. The song I have in mind has actually appeared on an album.

Quote
A town in New York = Poughkeepsie

That's what I was looking for, but if non-album tracks are in, then "Jig Newton" is also acceptable.

Quote
I left easy-to-trace graffiti on a bridge = I Painted My Name?

Correct (as are all of the other ones I'm not mentioning separately).

Quote
It's in a man's pocket (it can't be Il Est Dans Mon Poche because that would be too easy and "mon poche" is "my pocket". they don't seem to have a song called Handkerchief, Pocketwatch, or Wallet though. don't tell me it has to do with a gun or happy to...be so.)

You were right with "Il Est Dans Mon Poche". See, they don't really know French and they made an embarrassing grammar mistake in the lyrics and title of that one. The gender of "Mon" in "Mon Poche" implies that the speaker is a man.

...as for that last one, you should hear how atrocious my attempts to find a clue for "Happy With Myself?" were.

Quote
A place to stop if you want to die. (this one is difficult) = Toledo? Ruby Tuesday? Little Town?

If you're not familiar with The Twilight Zone, you won't get that one. It really is kind of difficult. Also, one of Ric's songs.

Quote
also I want to note that nobody has guessed at the one I keep adding things to! (it's here.)

You have me stumped. Is it an artist I'm familiar with? Is it Van Morrison?

oh, that's right, I remember reading something about that! (I don't really know French either, just that "mon" is "my". I forgot about the gender of "my". guess I'd better not be calling anyone "mon ami", huh.)

I will think some more on the ones I didn't get...

not Van Morrison. I did a phorum search and the following phorumers have made mention of the artist/a song by the artist:

Because I suck at deciphering the titles, I figured I'd make a batch of my own:

Sam Clemens' famous boy - Tom Sawyer
Double Yankee Zulu
Large Cash - The Big Money
Bowling Skeleton
Miss Daisy Was This - Driven
Faroff Notice At Dawn
Tiny Singular Win
Employed Chap
Terrible Nicholas Cage Movie
Nearing The Four-Chamber Organ
Redwoods and Evergreens
Polished Planet
MMCXII
Oh Canada - Anthem
Soar Nocturnally - Fly By Night
Weird City
Robert Greenwald Film
Glass Slipper Dude
Exam in Grand Canyon
Display Without Talking
Easy to carry fruit used in pie
Don't bother that!
Not Predestination - Freewill
French Holiday
Adios Henry, Richard, and George
Glenn Miller tune

I don't have the first clue for the artist is, but some of these titles appear to translate to the following:

Sam Clemens' famous boy = Either Tom Sawyer or Huckleberry Finn.
Large Cash = Big Money?
Miss Daisy Was This = Driven?
Terrible Nicholas Cage Movie = Family Man? (Oh, but there are so many...)
MMCXII = 1992?
Oh Canada = Anthem?
Soar Nocturnally = Fly by Night?
Glass Slipper Dude = Prince Charming?
Not Predestination = Free Will (since I doubt someone would write a song called "Arminianism")

MMXCII is 2092. Don't know how I screwed that one up the first time.

...Oh, but that can't be the answer, since AllMusic.com doesn't give any exact matches for a song titled "2092". So I'm baffled.
