Wouldn't call it best song, but here's an easy summary of Billboard's most popular songs of 2008 (courtesy DJ Earworm). United State of Pop 2008

Wow. That was amazing, from a technical standpoint. I've heard mashups of three songs before, but never 25!

Too bad I know almost none of those songs. But I guess it goes to show how malleable "Viva la Vida" is (and how easy it is to make any other song match its chord progression).

I kind of wish it were a real song. Collectively, it's better than most of the individual songs on there!

wow, that was awesome.  i think i knew 3 of the songs (guess i don't listen to enough R&B/hip-hop type stuff or radio for that matter), but still, that was incredible and creative and probably took a LOT of work.

I liked it, but I thought he went back to Katy Perry too much.   :P

I didn't mind that, because at least it was something I recognized, and the "I liked it" seemed to finish a sentence that some other singer started, due to the way it was pieced together. (Though that was what caused me to realize that "I Kissed a Girl" was one of the year's biggest hits. How sad for us as a nation.)

Every now and then, I think I kinda like that song "Apologize" by OneRepublic, then I realize it's just the ear candy factor of the digitized vocal, which wasn't even in the original song; it's in Timbaland's remix, so basically a bland pop/rock got popular because someone from outside the band made their song sound like fake R&B. So yeah, I have no love for the Top 40 charts this year other than "Viva la Vida".

I just thought the way it was done was pretty repetitive, and maybe a little obvious.

I probably like a couple more chart-toppers than you, but only a couple more.

Viva la Vida of course, Flashing Lights by Kanye was good, and I kinda liked a mid-tempo song that Hinder or Seether (forget which) put out.  Other than that, I can't think of anything.

Honestly, I'd need the list to even know how many I like, and I can't be bothered to look it up.   :ρ

To be fair, I haven't even heard most of 'em. Given the apparent style and subject matter, though, I can't see that I'm missing much.

I'd like "I Kissed a Girl" if it had a different title, different lyrics, and a different singer.
