several things I find myself concerned about

I'm not really looking for any deep responses here, I just need to get some of this out of my system...

Okay.

1) My dad is the inside counsel for a large corporation based in DC. Said corporation has taken quite a hit from the housing market collapse. The CEO sat everybody down last week and apparently said that they aren't going under exactly, but it's getting ugly. I know that my parents are stressed about this--and my dad isn't a stress-out-all-the-time type of person. I really don't want to see him have to eke out around the cuts that the corp. will no doubt have to make in the coming months . . . that happened once before at another firm and he didn't make it. Circumstances are quite different now, but even so, I'm worried for him. I'm just praying he can ride it out relatively unscathed. Also, he's dealing with a lawsuit against the company that sprang back up from the past, and I know he is NOT pleased about the case he will have to make...so.

2) After much stress and arguing with myself and God, I think He's telling me law school is the route I need to take. I'm actually getting excited about it; I took a mock LSAT last weekend (party, I know) and did well enough that I could get into mediocre law schools with no prep whatsoever, so that made me feel pretty good about it considering I have another year of undergrad to go before I take the LSAT for real. I guess I just want to know that it's God I'm hearing and not my own recycled arguments. Yeah, I know, there's pretty much always an element of uncertainty involved. That said, I am glad that I can finally say with at least some semblance of certainty (compared to where I was about six months ago) and excitement that I know what I want to do after undergrad. So that's a prayer and a praise.

They say writing out concerns is cathartic . . . it's true. I feel better now.
