Interesting. Osenga was responsible for a few of my favorite tracks on Overdressed, so I'm sad to see him sit this one out. At the same time, I was a big Derek Webb fan and then they went and made Share the Well without him and that's my favorite Caedmon's album now. So I guess anything's possible.

while i'm not trying to start something and i don't think he's lying at all, meaning that i think it probably wasn't a harsh leaving or whatever, it also doesn't really surprise me for a couple of reeasons. one, he's got his hands all over a zillion other things...i see updates on facebook all the time. and two, honestly, when i saw them last year with him and Derek both, even though they all get along great and are good friends, my wife and i actually commented on it seeming a bit awkward for Andy. who knows if Derek is gonna be around anymore, but i think while it made for an amazing album and tour with Overdressed, it was a little awkward too.

I like his solo songs on Brite Revolution - they've been some of my favorites that have been put up there. On the other hand, I've pretty much hated every Caedmon's Call song that's been put up there. So, yeah, I think it's a good move for him.

Eisley has announced their new record... and it's an EP. Oh, for crying out loud.
Anyway, Fire Kites EP drops October 13. Here's hoping there's still an album in the works.

Apparently, this is the official soundtrack for the New Moon soundtrack (the sequel to Twilight). Not a bad soundtrack for such a mediocre book/movie series. Someone posted this on the Relevant forums.
01 Death Cab For Cutie - "Meet Me On The Equinox" 02 Band Of Skulls - "Friends" 03 Thom Yorke- "Hearing Damage" 04 Lykke Li - "Possibility" 05 The Killers - "A White Demon Love Song" 06 Anya Marina - "Satellite Heart" 07 Muse - "I Belong To You (New Moon Remix)" 08 Bon Iver and St. Vincent - "Rosyln" 09 Black Rebel Motorcycle Club - Done All Wrong" 10 Hurricane Bells - Monsters" 11 Sea Wolf - The Violet Hour" 12 Ok Go- Shooting The Moon" 13 Grizzly Bear - Slow Life" 14 Editors - "No Sound But The Wind" 15 "Alexandre Desplat - New Moon (The Meadow)"

Mae announced the first song of (e)vening on Facebook today, but the funny thing is, I don't ever recall an announcement of (a)fternoon being released. It's not in their online store. They only just got around to a wider release of (m)orning, since the limited edition batch sold out. Have I missed something? I'd like to hear it before seeing them live next month, if possible.

Then you'll probably have to wait as long as you had to wait for (m)orning - which would probably put it out some time in October/November??

The (m)orning CD came out in May, I believe. (a)fternoon is available at their shows, and I might catch the show in October, so maybe I'll just buy it there. Would be nice to hear it all before the show (and in the intended order presented on the CD), though. The reason I enjoyed (m)orning so much was not just because all 5 songs were excellent, but also because of how well it all flowed together. NP: "Vaccine", Mew

The CD's are also nice because they include extra music than the month-by-month downloads.

Yeah, I figured the intro/outro and transitional stuff wouldn't have made sense if released on an individual basis. There were 4 months covered by (m)orning and 5 actual songs on the EP (Fisherman, House that Fire Built, Boomerang, Melody, Night/Day), so which one wasn't part of the monthly $1 per song deal?

from NPR's All Songs Considered blog:
We've been able to confirm that the release, called Fall Be Kind, will be available on both CD and vinyl sometime before the end of the year. There is no album art or track-list posted on Amazon or the band's Website. Although some sources speculate that it will be a full-length album, it will most likely be an EP along the lines of 2008's Water Curses. New information about the release should be available tomorrow, so stay tuned to the blog for more details.

John Mayer's Battle Studies comes out November 17. I didn't even realize he was working on anything. The first single "Who Says" sounds a lot like "Stop This Train", which makes me wonder if it's the odd song out like STT was on Continuum, or if he's going back to the more acoustic style of Room for Squares (and I already know what folks here have to say about that, so save your breath).

Everyone other than me seems to. Acoustic stuff = Bland, cheesy, Hallmark card material. Electric bluesy stuff = Cheesy Hallmark card material that is slightly cooler in the music department. I say, "Phooey, I loved Room for Squares."

The other guys from the trio played on the album, but stylistically I don't think it'll be like the album that was billed under the trio's name. In other words, you can probably skip this one. NP: "All the World Is Mad", Thrice

This is about an old 2009 release but I totally missed the release by Among The Oak & Ash that came out in June. It's Josh Joplin and Garrison Starr singing a bunch of "mostly-traditional folk songs" (iTunes said that). I've always liked Joplin's pop stuff so I'm just listening to this album now.

Got this message from the Out of The Grey Fans group on Facebook: Hi Everyone, (those of you who still check this site!)
Well, I'm so impatient to get our new project out but we are not QUITE there: the cover art is almost finished. Then we can get it manufactured and start offering it for sale. Thanks for hanging in there. I'll update again soon. Christine Dente SWEET!

The collection will be released as a Deluxe Edition which will include the albums on gold-plated 24k layered CDs with a Blu-ray Disc and a DVD featuring a 1991 Brixton Academy show and all of Pixies' music videos, packaged with a 54-page book. The Limited Edition package comes in a custom clamshell with all the albums on 180-gram vinyl, along with a Giclée print of artwork made for the collection, and a 72-page hardcover book.
