Just saw the covers to a couple of eagerly anticipated new releases from September (this year is turning out to be a great year for music). David Bowie (this one is too cool): Sting: And Elvis Costello:

Of those three, I think I like Elvis Costello's cover the most, but I'm a bigger fan of Bowie's music.

Fun facts about Chuck Norris:
Newton's Third Law is wrong: Although it states that for each action, there is an equal and opposite reaction, there is no force equal in reaction to a Chuck Norris roundhouse kick.
Chuck Norris can divide by zero.
Chuck Norris CAN believe it's not butter.

Yeah, the Costello one's the best. Wait, I just agreed with bloop! what is happening to me? j/k. I won't say anything about how much better LP's cover art is. Don't want to get in another phorum "shouting" match. Though they do get my post-count up pretty well. Haven't really listened to any of these bands.

No shouting match from me. Linkin Park's cover designs are pretty top-notch, particularly "Hybrid Theory".

I won't say anything about how much better LP's cover art is. Hybrid Theory has a well thought, sharp album booklet with good cover art, and Meteora has an awesome booklet with with OK cover art. The best cover art? Hard to say. I like CDs with paintings on them, such as Joseph Arthur's Redemption's Son and Sixpence's self titled. Black and white photography, like Costello's cover, is cool, but I don't actually have any CDs with it on the cover like that.

I think the Bowie cover is the most original and wicked-cool of the three, but Costello's is certainly very classy.
I'm looking forward to all three of these releases, in this order: Bowie, Costello, Sting. I'm a fan of all three artists, but just a casual one; I own one Bowie album and 2 each from the other two.

Do any of you remember the cover from Chasing Furies With Abandon? That was pretty cool.
Also the cover to Adventures in Odyssey's "Darkness Before Dawn" (not music, I know) is superlative. Something you should all take the time to buy and listen to.

Back on topic... being the offender, I will un-digress things:
Did anyone like the cover of Grandaddy's "Sumday"? Or did you think it was sort of a wimpy copout?

At the risk of being a party pooper, I'm going to attempt to get us back on topic. First, anyone else looking forward to any of these three releases? And second, are there any other important September releases that I'm forgetting about?

You piqued my interest in Sting with that other thread of yours with the song lyrics. Other than that, not really. I'm sorry about all the off-topicness as of late. I should know better, being a moderator. :embarass:

I liked the David Bowie cover. His "Heathen" one was cool, although the word "heathen" kind of put me off the record.
