Day 6 kinda sucked, but I think 7 will be improved, although it's too early to tell from the two episodes tonight.  They were solid episodes, but didn't really have any shock moments, since Tony's aliveness had already been advertised.  Also, I have a hard time believing that he'd becoming a terrorist because his wife died, but I'm sure there's much more to his story.

Pretty excited.

Everytime I see 24, I always have to laugh during part of it. The 24 Redemption, when they were in Somolia (?) I think was the best episode they've had so far. But there's always much of the series that's just completely unbelievable. Which I guess is the most hilarious part of it. I always find it paradoxical. 'Cause some parts are interesting and humorous, and yet other parts are boring and predictable. I could pick it apart in further detail... but I won't.

I do not understand why people laugh at the fact that it's a TV show.

The second night was stronger than the first.  Very good, here's hoping they can continue past the premier.

I meant to finish watching season 5 but still haven't done so. maybe I will start anew with season 7. but I am already prejudiced against Bad!Tony.

I just now realized that I meant season 6, not season 5.

Why wouldn't someone want to laugh at it? Isn't that part of what entertainment is? The only difference is that different people are entertained by it in different ways, which varies on what intrigues that individual the most. Why do people get scared at TV shows? Or cry? Or scream at the television? Etc... An analysis should be conducted, on people's reactions to the television and how that's a by-product of their personal inner perception in general.. (Which I'm sure has been done already... but it'd still be interesting.)

I agree. This season has been their best so far. I also hope it continues moving in that direction.

24 isn't a comedy.  I mean, whatever entertains you, I just don't get why you would forfeit the things that make 24 great just because you can tell that it's not real.

The main thing is, don't laugh at 24 while I'm watching or I might have pull some Jack Bauer moves on you >Smiley

That's just it. 24 isn't suppose to be a comedy, yet the way they portray certain "action" scenes seems rather comical when compared to reality. Of course, you can't expect a television show to line up 100% with reality since it obviously isn't. I just think if you're aiming for a show that's meant to seem real, yet you portray a great deal of stuff that seems highly unlikely, (not completely impossible, I know) especially considering the rare probability factor of the numerous amounts of events that occur in similar formats continually throughout the series... maybe you could improve your technique just a little bit more? I imagine a great deal of hard work goes into creating this series, and that no series will ever be flawless, but I still think a little more effort could be made in certain areas. And from what I've seen, it's been gradually improving. This season seems to be the best of the entire series so far. Also, just because I find parts of the show rather ludicrous, does not mean I dismiss other aspects of it that are really intriguing, which put the show in its element. I like many facets of the series, which is the primary reason I continue to watch it. That's why I stated earlier, that when I watch it I find that it's a paradoxical experience to me.

That's really true (in fact, you could say that about most everything) .... but then you'd also be ignoring all the parts that could be improved so that it would genuinely be better. But either way, I still can enjoy it.

The last three episodes have been very good.  Great action and suspense, and now Jack has no way of working with the FBI again anytime soon.  It's the government trying to stop Jack from saving America itself, just the way 24 should be.  ...At least I hope that's the way this goes.  Oh, and it looks like Jack could have a worthy rival in Quinn. Yeah, Quinn seems like a real "psycho with a smidgen of conscience."

Oh, and R.I.P. Bill Buchanan.

Nice ending last night.  Well, not really all that nice.  Rather terrifying, to be honest.  I really hope Tony makes it out alive.  I hate it when 24 brings people back just to kill them off.

Yeah, I'm really curious as to how Jack being exposed to that bioweapon is going to pan out.

Wow, he's actually infected.  I have to assume they'll just happen to find the cure by the end of the season, but if they decided to make Day 8 directly follow Day 7 and have Jack actually die at the end, that would be... interesting I guess.  I kinda hoped that when they finally kill Jack that it would be a bit cooler than dieing from a disease, but I suppose it could make for a more emotional drawn out ending.

Doubt they'll do it though. Smiley

Good ending to a good season.  I'm actually pretty satisfied with their explination for Tony, and there were a lot of good emotional scenes (although I think Kim was too calm.  She could have at least shed some tears there at the end...) Overall, season 7 didn't match the brilliance of season 5, but I think 7 will definitely rank in the upper half of 24's history.  The biggest problem with this season was the political side.  Pretty much everything that happened with Olivia was irrelevant to the bioweapon plot.  It was just there because they needed to have something for those characters to do for the second half of the season.  Also, Renee is not even close to being worthy of being Jack's heir.  There's no way she's going to break Wilson.

Season 8 info:  CTU is reestablished, this time in NYC.  Jack, Chloe, Taylor and Renee are all signed on.  Kiefer says this one's going to be more realistic... we'll see about that. Wink  Also, is largely rumored to be the final season.  Sad if true, but all good things must come to an end.  Even though season 6 was considered a let down, it was still quality television, so for a show to pretty much stay strong for (hopefully) 8 seasons is pretty remarkable.

Not sure what the deal is, but Day 7 is out on DVD.  Maybe they were able to get it out early due to the extra time they had thanks to the writer's strike.  In any event, I'm getting ready for my second run through.  After this I will have seen every season twice except for 6.
