Yes, it works. Also, I've been listening to FOL quite a bit. I like the Smashing Pumpkins, even though I don't own anything by them.

I uploaded my favorite song from Mae's (m)orning EP (and there's a lot of competition since all of the full-length songs on that disc are excellent), which morphs seamlessly into a joyous acosutic instrumental on the next track. It should be Boomerang --> Two Birds if you want to listen to them in the proper order.
I also uploaded a Meg & Dia track that is just plain fun and catchy (and a bit lyrically bewildering).
I still need to catch up with what others have uploaded.

Whenever you do a delete request, start it with your user name. The reason I say this is because murlough requested The Listening be deleted, and Vlad had a track by them as well (I didn't screw it up, but I see the potential).

I'm putting up three new songs today:
1) "Arms of a Thief", one of my favorite Iron & Wine B-sides from the Around the Well. It will piss off the lo-fi purists. 2) "Closer to Me", a gorgeous little song by Future of Forestry that makes this cynical heart swoon. 3) "When Love Comes to Town", the live version by Third Day, Robert Randolph, Jars of Clay & Switchfoot, because even though Third Day kind of sucks these days, this is totally worth hearing.

Uploaded a couple songs from a guy named Chase Pagan. He's an indie folk artist who has a sweet falsetto and writes lyrics that are clever and often intentionally funny.

I've decided to start contributing to the Pub. I have just Uploaded my first batch of songs. Sometimes I'll have a theme to my Uploads, and such is the case here, as these are all artists I discovered in concert over the last few months.
My Uploads:
1. Brooke Waggoner: "Live For the Sounds" This is an up-tempo track from Brooke's most recent CD, Heal For the Honey, which features Brooke writing pop songs using primarily classical instrumentation. Case in point, most of Brooke's songs, including this one, are led with the piano and backed by several string players.
2. Paper Route: "Carousel" This is the first radio single from an Electronic rock band whose debut album has been getting rave reviews from a few people here.
3. Patty Griffin: "Heavenly Day" This piano-based track is one of my favorite songs from her 2007 CD, Children Running Through, which I decided to check out after seeing her at Jazz Fest last month.
Enjoy! (if you choose)

I uploaded some new stuff.
First, " Mystery.mp3" is mine. It should be called "(Vlad!) Ayreon - Day Four: Mystery.mp3". I forgot that not all filesystems are OK with colons in filenames. My bad. bloop, feel free to rename it as appropriate.
Korpiklaani: Wooden Pints: Korpiklaani is my discovery of the year thus far. Wooden Pints is just a fun, fun song. It's like...Scandinavian Folk Metal? Hardcore polka? It's a little difficult to describe, so just check it out and see what's up with that. Toy Box: Russian Lullaby: Toy Box primarily does laughably bad teeny-pop music. I downloaded Toy Ride for the express purpose of laughing at it. While most of it is as bad as advertised, track 2 turned out to be a really catchy song that's not at all in their usual vein. Who knew. Ayreon: Day Four: Mystery: I've uploaded some Ayreon stuff before but they're awesome so deal with it. The Human Equation is a concept album/rock opera featuring (as is Ayreon's wont) several guest artists in prog metal, including James LaBrie from Dream Theater. I realize that uploading a track in the middle of a concept album is a bit like uploading a scene from the middle of a movie, but it's still a great song, and it's pretty early on so you get the idea. Plus, I definitely uploaded something from the very middle of Operation Mindcrime and nobody complained, so I'm assuming we're cool with that sort of thing.
All my previous songs can be deleted. I uploaded a text file to that effect.

I just upped Danger Mouse and Sparklehorse's Dark Night of the Soul album. It's unlikely to be released in the near future anyway, and I can't get enough of it.
(I'm surprised it isn't on anyone else's journal. I'm usually the last to get to things)
I'll give the current pub songs a listen tomorrow. It doesn't show up as a hit because I'm playing it off my own machine, obviously, so you know someone's listening in. :-D

Haha, yeah. Most of their stuff wavers between "so bad it's funny" and "so bad it's just plain terrible", but Russian Lullaby is more like "so bad it's OH GEEZ GET IT OUT OF MY HEAD I'VE LISTENED TO IT FIFTEEN TIMES NOW". At least, that's how it was for me

I'm taking down my old stuff and uploading two "new old songs":
Dean Gray, "Novocaine Rhapsody" - I can't recall whether I Pubbed this one a few years back when I first stumbled across the unauthorized mash-up of Green Day's American Idiot. But this one seems even more apropos now that Josh and others have compared the new album's operatic melodrama to Queen. It is an unholy alliance between GD's "Give Me Novocaine" and Queen's "Bohemian Rhapsody", with a familiar U2 drum cadence thrown in for good measure.
Cindy Morgan, "Lay Me Down" - This song is a downbeat, twangy spiritual of sorts. It's very unusual for Cindy Morgan, and it stands out as one of her best songs for that reason. Worth checking out even if her style is normally too "CCM" or too "sunny pop" for your tastes.

Beginning my pub career. Added 2 tracks by local indie bands who I happen to admire. Both m4as, but not protected.
"Devil On Your Back" by Brother - The band describes themselves as "The Beach Boys meet Bob Dylan". While one could take exception to such high-minded comparisons, I do find that to be an apt description of the sound they are reaching for.
"Addition" by The Denouement - When I first heard this band, Arcade Fire comparisons came to mind, but I have since decided that the sonic resemblance is only superficial. I don't really know what else to compare them to. This is their album opener, and it really explores their loud-soft dynamic.

Nixed the S poon EP for the lead track from Camera Obscura's newest. I think dgp and murlough would particularly appreciate them. I thought Josh listened to their album, but I don't see it in his journal, so him, too.

I'm glad I nabbed the Danger Mouse and Sparklehorse while I could. The few tracks I've listened to, I've enjoyed quite a bit. Having David Lynch sing on your record doesn't hurt, either.
Thought I'd contribute some songs from records which are currently out of print:
Ashley Cleveland - "Willy" (from Big Town) Margaret Becker - "I Don't Want To Be Without You" (from The Reckoning) Out Of The Grey - "The Deep" (from Live 12.9.2000)
"Willy" is just plain fun. "I Don't Want To Be Without You" may be my favorite Maggie B. song. The whole live EP is pretty good; I think it came with some copies of 6.1.

Agreed. That was why I chose to highlight it - for the storytelling. Specificity wins out over just being pissed off at some nameless oppressive force. Though the rhyme scheme and overall rhythm are also unusual for a rap song.

Uploaded some new songs,
fun - Be Calm
They're a supergroup, one of whose members is from Anathallo. I've been called upon to review their debut album and so far it is very much a blast. Quirky, fun, creative, and will probably end up in my top ten for the year.
Brenden Kirch - While The Wind Blows
I'm uploading one of my own songs to get some opinions from the people here.
The Tall Pines - Up
These guys are a joyous folk/bluegrass act that is currently at number two in my music journal.
Bogs Visionary Orchestra - Jesus
This is actually the wrong track and didn't realize it until afterwards, can you remove it, Bloop?
