The Soloist: 7

Oh. That's all I have for 2009 so far...yikes!

Don't feel bad.  I haven't seen any movies in 2009 and the last one I saw in the theater was The Dark Knight in June 2008.

I've also gone to the theater less this year than probably any other year. Even my Netflix queue has been a lot more TV shows than movies these days.

I guess I'll participate this year...where appropriate, the movie title will be linked to my mini-review in the Last Movie thread

Pirate Radio: A+
Moon: A+ (see also: spoileriffic thread)
A Serious Man: A
The Invention of Lying: A
Summer Hours: A-
Star Trek (2009): A- (see spoileriffic thread)
9: B+
Cold Souls: B
District 9: B- (see spoileriffic thread)

All my movies are above a C...either I'm a really lenient reviewer or I saw a lot of good movies. Looking over the list, I'm thinking it's the latter, but maybe I'm just a pushover Smiley

If you don’t have freedom as a principle, you can never see a reason not to make an exception. There are constantly going to be times when for one reason or another there’s some practical convenience in making an exception.

When you see as few movies in the theater as I do, you tend to rate most things above a C because you have a pretty good feel for what you're not gonna like well before you plunk down ten bucks to watch it. You and I have just been pretty good about being selective.

A lot of the C and lower grades in my Film Journals tend to get added retroactively, as I Netflix stuff that I missed in the theater (sometimes intentionally).
