As mentioned previously, you can steam the entire Mastodon album on MySpace.

This was a tough week for me. I listened to all the clips twice, and I'm still not all that confident about these guesses.

I think we can reveal now. It's the final round, btw, so no need to pick the next album.

Revive sounds like a cut-rate version of Sanctus Real to me. Same overall sound, less passion, less songwriting talent. Sanctus Real's best albums rank at about 4 stars, so a band with 50% of the talent ranks 2 stars.
Wow, last round already? I totally ran out of time and guessed blind. I should've been more careful!

4 for Mastodon-- which is exactly what you all guessed, so I guess I don't need to explain.

3 for Radioviolet. They remind me a little of a poor man's Incubus - enjoyable enough, but I think they could use the kind of confidence more experience might provide. Sadly, you all got me right, too.

Brandon Scott Smith has some songs that sound like he's trying to be more creative, Come On With That and Modern Day Prodigal have an interesting musical backdrop and overall I was only bored with about three of the songs out of seven. But the album is short and so the forgettable songs carry that much more weight. His lyrics are also pretty weak all around, so I'm gonna go with C-, or, 3 stars.

It looks like everyone is waiting for me. Just so we can allow this final round to be scored, I'll say I went with 3 stars for Phillip LaRue's solo debut. I can explain more in detail when I have more time (probably tomorrow night.)

This Round 9 ajyouthguy 8.75 murlough 7.5 Josh 7.5 Brendan 7.5 plvarona 6.25 bloop
Final Scores 81.25 murlough 78 plvarona 77.5 bloop 75.8 ajyouthguy 73.5 Brendan 71.75 Josh 43 Ninjarob 31.4 Wanderer
It's interesting to see that if you discount the zeros for rounds that Wanderer didn't participate, he came in second as an average.
Anyway, congrats to murlough for being this game's winner.

Anyway, congrats to murlough for being this game's winner. Thanks. I'm not sure how I pulled that off (especially that last round), but yay!
