While I was just listening to Caedmon's Call, I realized that amidst the morass of garbage being produced in the name of worship music, their album "In the Company of Angels" is a masterpiece. Maybe my favorite worship album ever.
Anyone else have a favorite?

City On a Hill. Has some songs from some quality artists, like Caedmon's Call, Jars of Clay, and Sixpence None the Richer.

Fun facts about Chuck Norris:
Newton's Third Law is wrong: Although it states that for each action, there is an equal and opposite reaction, there is no force equal in reaction to a Chuck Norris roundhouse kick.
Chuck Norris can divide by zero.
Chuck Norris CAN believe it's not butter.

City on a Hill is a good one, though I haven't heard them all. And Josh will probably become ill at this, but Michael W. Smith's first worship album isn't bad at all.

I love all of Waterdeep's worship albums. I'm not a huge worship music fan but Waterdeep's always seems so passionate and real.

Well, whatever a worship album is...
I find that Gospel music in general is just *good* and a great way to worship in the joy of the Lord. Personally, I really enjoy MaryMary's Thankful album.

Not good enough for me to buy, but certainly good enough for my friends to buy and play frequently. But then I've had a life-long liking for MWS, thanks in no small part to my cousin and his i2(eye) influences Skraps

It depends, as far as just listening is concerned i'd say Benjamin Gate's Untitled. As for something used in actual worship RSJ's Worship God (I know, I know, cheesy little album, but it works).

Could someone give me a definition of "Worship Album"? Is that just Christian music? Or a certain style of Christian music?

I define worship music as any music that prompts you to initiate dialogue with the Almighty.
Basically all of the music I listen to, then, with very few exceptions, counts as worship music, at least by my definition. The stuff that's typically labeled as "praise and worship music" simply doesn't have the intense conversation with God that you find on the works of U2, Over the Rhine, Bob Dylan, Sam Phillips, etc.
When it comes to the music that I play when I'm sitting down to read God's Word, though, I usually pick The Joshua Tree (the most prayerful rock album of all time, in my opinion) or Passion, Peter Gabriel's epic soundtrack to The Last Temptation of Christ.

Rich Mullans is pretty good. I think its "Mullins," but yes, he would probably be my favorite worship album. Even if some people say that he's an evil influence... as is all CCM .

Rich Mullins (who was a man, not an album) was an amazing musician. He really was. Just goes to show you not all CCM is "bad" or "mediocre". His lyrics are some of the most poetic ever. They rival Bono's lyrics. And I'm not kidding. He had such a heart--his heart was always bleeding through his music. I want to get more of his albums, and I highly recommend him to all of you out there. If you want to talk about music that causes you to initate in conversation with the Divine, this is it. =)

Mullin's song "Hard To Get" is one of the most beautiful, most heartbreaking prayers I've ever heard. He definitely was a man of great talent.

I'll consider an album a "worship album" if it seemed to be written with that specific intent in mind. THere are plenty of album that inspire me to worship or to converse with God... but I don't necessarily consider them worship albums.
Anyway, my pick would have to be Glo by Delirious? Josh already knows this, and I'm sure he's trying very hard to restrain himself. [_[
